alright, all lights work, horn, ebrake, starts and runs great, stops straight and true, etc. Truck is back out of my garage and I'm calling the garage first thing tomorrow.

You should rattle can that thing this weekend. Seriously. Once you do it and get it looking good you won't be so worried about getting rid of it. I've been kicking myself for selling that 79 pig I had from AU since it left.

It's taken me more then a year (though I did nothing to it all winter), but it really is a 100% better truck now then when I bought it. I'm proud of the work I've done to it, though less proud of my lackadaisical time frame.

Picked up rattle cans of dark blue (botom) and white (top) paint tonight, along with satin black for the mirrors, door handles, etc. Also got tape.

I'll spend tomorrow wirewheeling the really rough spots and hitting with heavy-rust brown Rustoleum. Then pressure wash adn dry the whole thing, then put it in the garage and remove what I can, and tape up everything else. Hope to shoot on Sunday.

Awesome. Love that color combination. It's gonna look great. I think you should keep the pig.

paint process underway, I spent most of the day grinding all th eloose rust off the drip rails and then cleaning it up thoroughly. I need to reseal the drip rail then start taping.

I really like the dark blue so I think we are doing the whole truck that color except for the roof in white (and maybe the hood.) Then i'll get some nice grey to pain the inside to cover up the rest of the olive.

Should look pretty decent from 20 feet.

I decided this morning to postpone pig paint, #1 priority is getting it in inspected on Thursday and I don't want to start taking parts and pieces off and potentially screw anything up or not get it back together in time (lights, etc).

It's started though, I'm resealing the drip rail and priming a few of the rougher spots today, I may even get the roof and hood painted (white) but the body of the truck will wait until after inspection.

Little by little...It will get done.
Patience grasshopper.

I know it is hard, (been there, still there too). Just keep doing a little at a time and when it is done you can enjoy it. You will look back and it will not seem like it was sooo long, although it does now.

Got the drip rail sealed back up last night, will spray it with brown (heavy rust) primer tonight. Wednesday night I drop it off at the garage for Thursday inspection {fingers crossed}

Put a bright light on the section of door I painted in the dark blue and REALLY like it. It's nice to see some gloss on there instead of flat, chalky camo paint,.

QUESTION:

Since he PO painted that camo on everything including the rubber window molding. Is there a way to get that off?? I'd like to get it clean and black before I tape it all off. Paint thinner on a sponge maybe? I don't want to eat any of it up as it's all pretty much unobtainium.

Ideas?
