YEAH!!! Wife and son off to Maine for the weekend leaving me home with the pooch, a nice respite. Going to work on Pig Paint, play video games, sleep late, and just plain chill.
Probably load up the dog and hit the road and put some miles on the on the truck, considering Kina's on Saturday but it's a long way from my house in an untested, 30+ year old hunk of steel.
Is it 5:00 yet?

so I got my horn wired in last night. i did not realize there was enought metal in the dynomat extreme to ground for the horn.nothing like trying to find the culprit while you are upside down and under the dash in a closed 2 car garage when 2 brand new hella horns fire off just have to wire the dash and lights and fill and beeld the brakes and she hits the road

close so close. I think once you get rid of the camo and get it white and blue (excellent color choises by the way) you willhave a far greater respect for yours. it really is a cool pig you have. but thank you for the complement it has been a long road to get the lv on it.

exciting stuff with the pig and the LV.
Hurricane Lola is landing tonight (mother in law) for a stormy couple days. I'm heading to Aruba on Monday with the wife (sans kid and any relatives) My Backberry will be thrown in the ocean.

Just finished the last of my deliverables for the day. Now I have to crawl under the truck and install a grease zerk in the drive shaft so i can lube my shaft... hehe... then its off to the outdoor bar with the dog to work on "socializing" him. aka getting to talk to hot chicks that want to pet the cute puppy!

That's beautiful!!! How many hours do you think you've spent on that?? Congrats on nearing the finish line. I would have given up and cried.
I'm supposed to be working today but I think I'm blowing off the afternoon and all day tomorrow to do some details on the Blizz. Heading to NH tomorrow night with the relatives. Gonna swing by Kina's for beers and silliness. I guess technically it's Friday for me too!!!!

adding up the hours hmm my guestimate is.... average 10hours a week for almost 3 years now. somethings though I have learned so much in this process of basically building a car that they would not take me near as long the next time around and alot of people have helped and given me pointers along the way. plus all the internet research time spent. you need the ponder time as well where you just sit and stare at it and try not to give up and cry. (which I am trying not to do right now with the colum dash wiring)
so 1500 hours or so.... i need a life.....
Dave if you want to know the stats on Wilma you must read the thread I am not ging to spoil the plot for you...

Jason- That thing is gorgeous!!!
so 1500 hours or so.... I need a life..... You could be doing worse things. Everybody should do a total frame off restoration. You learn so much about how a vehicle works

ha!!If john can only own and drive one land cruiser for a year I will do that with Wilma.
thanks Gary I agree everyone should do a frame off atleast once some of the things I was scaried of i laugh at now and some of the things i should of been scaried to do I did before I knew i should have been scaried of doing it.
Dave you better buy a pig hat I don't have any near term plans to do another run of Teq hats

so I get back from lunch and get an email from my perspective classic car insurer whom I had sent these same pics above too last week.
"
1) Please verify the year of the Land Cruiser. After extensive search I have found that the first Land Cruisers were build in 1965.
2) Photos indicate that the vehicle is in need of restoration. Please advise of the restoration time line in detail.
3) Please advise as to how you established the agreed value of $25,000. My research has provided this value for a #1, show quality condition vehicle?
"
I am calling her to set her straight.

Jason- Your agent's head will spin when she reads the build thread. I will 100% stick to one cruiser for a year if you do that with Wilma but I get to be in the passenger seat holding the tissue box for you when it goes down.
