I installed my old Sirius receiver today. I'll take some pics.

Pulled the third row seats out. Applied some stickers last night too.

Really loving all the cup holders, sun roof, mirror defrosters, etc.

This was one of the best 100 series writeups I read. Cole said he used his as a guide as well.

http://forum.ih8mud.com/az-arizona-l...hn-shotts.html

Seems like the below would be the way to go. 2 inchs run some 285's (basically a 33) ample room for the size tire with decent flex and without loosing much on the gearing. The V8 helps. Also Cole can tell you the factory braking is not up to the task of stopping his with 35's. My .2

Components were:

OME 865 Rear Coils
OME N100/N101 shocks
SwayAWay 1661 front torsion bars

That's about as much as I bring to the table too Scott. Thanks.

Good info from the rest of you. I saw Slee's write up when his 100 was the ROTW but it was kind of overwhelming at first with all of those mods. I don't want a big lift, something mild and 33s are plenty big enough for me for now (when i do the lift).

I gotta say though that the 100 as is is one of the best driving vehicles I have ever owned. Very comfortable, great handling and smooth as can be. Toyota nailed it when they designed this vehicle.

Aren't those also known as damage amplifiers? Instead of just busting a tail light, whatever you hit could also push the guard into the body and cause damage.

De-Runningboardification

Finally took them off.

It looks cooler in person. Even looks like it has some lift to it.

And what is this?

What does a center differential drop kit do? I was looking at Slee's site and see that as an option on the 2" lift.

Thanks.

It helps keep the proper driveline angles when you add the lift. I saw a couple guys in the forum using it. Not sure if Cole did anything with his to accomidate the lift

like larry said, it drops the front differential down to keep the CV angles in check with the higher lift. I am running one and it was easy to install.

edit: and the "Whats this?" thing above is a harmonic balancer attached to the frame. seems like everyone 100 series owner on mud asks that question at least once.....most have taken it off and noticed no difference.

a little update on my 100 series

phase 1 is 90% complete

i finally readjusted my torsion bars. i have pretty much exactly 60mm of droop in the front, allowing me to gain another inch of lift

i also got around to installing my OME863 springs in the rear

where i hooked up my license plate light. i found out the hard way its the brown wire you need to tap into

the rest of phase 1 will include finally getting my Borla muffler installed. i also plan on purchasing a welding machine and a tube bender, so imma practice and make a tube bumper and get rid of the brush gaurd. i also still need a set of sliders and still need to lower the rear bump stops

phase 2 will probably be some 1 ton axles front and rear. but thatll have to wait a while because i have this to screw with

anyone need a set of OME860 springs for cheap?

Your rig looks awesome!

thanks!

slee recommended them for ~3" rear lift with no extra weight in the back (meaning no bumper). on the slee site, its stats are 2.5" lift with a load of 0-200lbs. they worked great, and even worked well with my bumper, just sagged a bit. i gained about an inch going to the new springs. these springs and torquing up the t-bars will give you a 2.5-3" lift.

i was lookin for $90 for them (half off slees price), but probably let them go cheaper for a club member.

this is the lift they gave me with no bumper

edit: or where you talking about the 863 springs ???

edit2: and you asked a few months ago how hard it is to lift: i changed the springs out today in under 2 hours, including taking off and remounting the wheels, frame-side sway bar mounts, and rear shock mounts. i would have finished even sooner but i had a big hang up with my spring retainers that had to be solved with heat from a propane torch and a crow bar. you could probably do the entire thing in under 4 hours, including new shocks, springs, tbars, and a diff drop, especially if you have a buddy to help

Cole,

With those 860s, would I have to get new t bars or can the original ones be used? I read a lot about people cranking them up, but I'm not sure how that would work. I had the 62 suspension all figured out but I haven't spent the time underneath the 100 to know how it all works.

if i remember correctly, new t-bars are not exactly needed. i believe the aftermarket tbars are like a stiffer spring rate, allowing for better control, esp when adding weight to the front (like a bumper or winch). slee doesnt recommend using stock tbars when cranking them up. i believe it has to do with a soft spring rate supporting the truck while torqued up.

on the 100 series, the front tbars are connected to the front suspension. the rear mounting point has an adjustment nut, which when turned, applies a rotational force lifting the front of the truck. "cranking up the torsion bars" just means turning the adjustment nut and twisting the tbars to store more energy and lift the truck. am i making sense? its kinda hard for me to explain it like this.
