make sure your shield "outer coaxial nut body" is grounded at the antenna base if not do it to it then adjust antenna SWR.

had a lot of trouble with Scott`s now have a 1.3 on CH1/ 1.45 On CH40.
not bad for a bumper mount

Check the resistance across the the wire and the whip (continuity), and the wire and the ground (open).

Mike, is there any chance your mic is open? That's the only thing that makes sense to me.

No, it`s close there Brian. It has me puzzle. If it was open you will not hear your self.

Looks like a good kit, search the 40 tech section to see if you can find someone who bought it and did the project. I had saved a few links from Profitt's looking to use his stuff. It maybe a better option for you.

I can't seem to see clearly if you have to give them your stuff and then they put it together or what? and it also says core does that mean i have to give them my axels or what? but i see that their both pretty close in comparison but the link you showed me seems like they do everything for you, you just have to put it together

You should call them, from reading it looks like they send you the front axle housing already cut and turned and you send them your housing as a core. Less down time. The rear is easy finding your driveshaft angle and welding the perches into place. It sounds like a good way to go for the price compared to the other kit you found. I'm sure you get a core charge and they re credit you once they receive yours. My .2

My battery had been looking like crap on top with corrosion on both poles. A few weeks ago I ran the battery down while playing music and accidentally leaving the lights on for too long after UL's first game and it took a jump and a little longer than usual hooked up to my buddies truck to maintain a charge/power for me to get home that night. This morning I bought a new battery, went to work, thought nothing of the battery until a little while ago when I went outside to look at it (why, I have no idea, I just had a feeling) and the poles are all wet and corroded. Any ideas about what's wrong?

Let me guess Marty, your battery is Duralast, mind battery did the same thing. Did you put battery terminal & cable protector on your post. It works only 6 month our so

Does NFG stand for what I think it stands for?

That's what I thought you meant. What are the odds of two batteries having the same issue? I can't be that lucky.

i worked at autozone and hated the duralast batteries, i always use everlast from walmart and have never had one single problem with them.

of course if you want a really good battery go with the really expensive optima's.
