Rick Dietz:

Hi Scott,

It was great to meet you and all of the other members yesterday. It was definitely worth the trip from N.O. Attached are some pics from the meeting for the website, MUD, etc. Let's work on hosting a future meeting down here.

Rick

Thanks for the pics Rick... I hated to run.

Awesome meeting all the new folks

I was typing a response but it looks like Larry beat me to it. Larry, if only you would have been quicker than Scott last night about the lockers.

Glad he spoke up for them wouldn't want them to get tossed when so many could use them. I was down a day or so with some bug I caught but recovering.

Momentum is the key!!! I am a big beliver in momentum, it is our friend . That and having the inteligence to realise if people who are locked front a rear are scrambling and clawing for traction that you might should have tried to find an alternate route... Not that I am speaking from experiance or anything.

That being said I now have a cookie jar that is now the "locker" fund. Unless ofcourse I can use liquid persuasion to get a friend of mine to Lincoln lock me like someone else sugjested.

Sorry I missed you guys today. I had good intentions but found some woodcock yesterday and had to get in the woods again today. The season ends this Thursday. My kids were none to happy with me. My wife has been out of town for a couple of days and instead of taking thd kids to get something good to eat and make the meeting, I got a babysitter and gave them sandwiches before heading out for some hunting. Looks like you guys had a good turnout. I'll catch you all next time.

Just to clear things up a bit...there's really no such thing as a "OPEN OPEN" '96 FZJ80 AFAIK...you basically have standard issue Torque Bias Ratio situation here...all 95-97 models have Center locking diff and VC transfer=Limited Slip Diff. So, what I was saying was that even without the factory front/rear e-locker, you'll go thru an amazing amount of mud and terrain in the 80 series.....and I firmly believe that the the FZJ's, the 100's and FJC's with A-Trac can go places w/o lockers, that you just can't with a stock 40 or 60...cause without lockers, you don't have LSD or any type of Traction device...it's just "open open"...

Thanks to everyone that came out, as always it was good to see everyone. Sorry we missed you Jason, Armond and others but we all understand things come up. I look forward to seeing you at one of the next outings. I'll get busy with following up to the tasks from todays meeting so look for updates in the threads and email. I'll also upload the pics I took today to the club site. Tina we did miss getting you in there but will get you & Matt in there next weekend. Good to see you checking in here. Lance it was great to put a face with a name and enjoyed seeing another nice Troopy. I'm glad you made the trip. Dave it was great to meet you today and I hope you liked what you heard and saw. It'll be nice to have another fine FJ in the club.

Nite all, Have a good week and I hope to be riding in the parade with some of you next weekend. It'll be fun

LL

LMAO... I was just yanking your chain bud... Lol... and you are very correct w/ the above... (like most times). I just thought the pic needed a caption and you were in mid sentence when I passed by...lol.

<--------------- Aahhhhhhhh I've been flamed!

That would be the start of a set of sliders (think it needs to be longer than this for the Troopy) that got left in the crossmember
