Hey thanks to everyone, its cool that the club is involved with community projects not just parking lot cruising. Looking forward to hitting some trails.

I have a guy named Lance Scott that is about to join the club. He is from Mandeville\Madisonville area. He has a 80, I think a 60 and is about to take delivery of a troopy. He used to have a bj-40 but just sold it. Watch out Scott, you have a little competition now!

I'd like to welcome George Watson from New Iberia. He didn't say what he was driving or where he heard about us at but hopefully he'll chime in here and tell us.
I look forward to meeting you George

He told me it was an 82 like yours. It is a 83 like yours. I think they put on the title 82 for import. We found 83 stamped on the truck. Does yours have asin hubs or warn? He has asin. Toyota started using asin in 83. My dads 83 has asin.

AFAIK, Warn was a Dealer installed option....there were lots of dealer-installed "upgrades". The factory hubs were AISIN. Also, I've seen lots of mid-70's Fj40's with AISIN.
I prefer AISIN myself. I'd trade my "premium" Warn's for a set of AISIN any day myself. AISIN is probably the strongest and most widely used hub in the world...but they are expensive too. Also, AFAIK, Warn are aluminum and weaker. AISIN are known for strength...they came on all kinds of trucks...they also have a lower profile and don't stick out as much.

I see. Someone had told me what I mentioned in my last post. When I was told that, I always wondered why Warn would be on a Japanese truck.
