hello everyone, My name is Ryan Poisso, I'm a good friend of Marty Cannon. He talked me into signing up on this website. I am in the process of trying to find an old Cruiser to fix up, and will need help when the time comes. I live in West Monroe, but work in Lafayette often. Would like to meet some of you when I come in town to talk about Cruisers.

He's actually thinking of getting that LC you sold in St. Gabriel as a project.

Having said that.. I hope Ryan is able to bring it to life...even with the 1/2 doors I like you...lol...but you still suck __________________ 1982 FJ45 Troop Carrier "Matilda" - - 1996 LX450 "80 in drag" - www.BSLCA.com - Good friends, a few cruisers, alot of laughs and a bunch of wives making this face --> "If I'm off (which is rare)... Thanks guys, i appreciate the help. Marty and I discussed LC's a while back and I told him that I always wanted to find something to fix up and rebuild. I love doing stuff like that, and it will keep me out of the house so the wife can't find something for me to do inside, honey-do related. I'm not sure about the meeting, Marty just got me set up on the website today. We'll just have to see when it is and if I'm going to be in town at that time. From what I understand though, I'll definetly need help in locating parts for the St. Gabriel Crusier. But it sounds like fun.

Ryan won't be using his for a while. When we go get it, just take them off and use them. Ryan will probably mount a gun rack back there anyway and won't need some doors.

Not so fast Marty, I'm not that Redneck. I do have a little pride in my vehicle. Besides if you mount the gun rack back there, how are you going to get to your gun in a hurry when you need it. I prefer mounting it in-between the two front seets where it is easily accessible.

Yeah but you're redneck enough. I guess with the guns between the seats, the beer cooler must go behind the seat, right?

Welcome Ricardo!!!! I think it's great that you have joined our ranks. Some of the guys in our club have a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience with these rigs. Best of all they are willing to share that. Often times, it's not just by communicating that but also by giving a helping hand. When I sold you the cruiser, I didn't know that BSLCA was being conceptualized. This reallly is a great group. I know you will enjoy being a part of it as much as I have.

The real good news of the day was hearing from Rick in New Orleans. I sent him a long email with the ways to get in touch with us. I'll give him a call tomorrow to introduce myself. Here is his email I received this afternoon. If you see this Rick welcome to you and your group. I hope to chat with you more and look forward to meeting up with you soon. I'd even arrange a group trip to NO to visit Ricardo Febry and your group.
Rick wrote: Hi Larry, my name is Rick Dietz and I live in New Orleans. We had a small club that was just starting to take off right before Katrina. I would love to make it to the meeting but my FJ40 is not an interstate driver. Please add me to your list. I will spread the word about the BSLCA down here and hopefully we can get some more members. I have never heard of this club. How long has it been around? Atttached is a pic from the last meeting we had here. Rick 1975 Fj40 Man was I excited to read this LL |

That's awesome! Welcome Rick and company! Say, if you guys ever want to come down for a meeting, I'd be happy to escort you in my rig from the 310 and 90 junction. Nice easy ride IMHO.
