X2 welcome and no need to be embarrassed no everyone is locked and you can still have a good time. Look forward to meeting you. What kind of lockers are you waiting on. John, and Josh recently installed gears and lockers in their 4-Runners and maybe able to help.

Welcome, and you shouldn't be embarrassed. You don't need lockers to offroad. Practice and a good spotter works wonders.

Well Welcome to the club, and dont worry I wheeled open/open for I guess about 2 years as a member of the club before getting my lockers. Just upgraded my tires and have my old 32's sitting in the back of the 4runner right now. Don't know what you are running on now if that would be an upgrade or not.

Right now I'm running on 31/1050/15 BFG A/T's and I'm waiting on a set of Aussie Lockers. I will be putting 4.88 r&p's in it when I do the lockers. Any help in the Lafayette area would be appreciated. I've never done diffs before and I will be doing them in the parking lot of my apartment building.

I do pretty good with it right now. I've only been wheeling with it twice since coming to LA. I did the Halloween Night Ride and the Sweetheart ride with LA4x4. I was living in NC before and my setup did good in the sand there but I need to get some M/T's for the stickier mud here.

So here's what she has:

'85 4Runner 22RE 5spd
31/1050/15 BFG A/T's
Accel Coil
K&N Cone
AFM Mod
10" Shackles
Plasticoated Interior
Custom Rear Slider Bumper
Nerf Bars
Raptor Muffler

*edit* I forgot about onboard air

I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple of things. Aussie Lockers are coming and I will replace the 4.10's with 4.88's. 4.10's are doing good with 31's but I'm wanting to go with 33's and 35's in the future. I am looking for a good set of tires right now.

Alright....I think you guys have talked me into it....I know it was hard.....but I think I might just have to wheel with you guys at Sicily. Anyone doing a convoy from Lafayette? I probably won't have a co-pilot for navigating this time out.

When are you planning on leaving? I will be leaving Friday evening after the Island Crawfish Boil. I have only been to Sicily a couple times but I THINK I dropped a waypoint on my GPS last time I was there so I will get there eventually. I am towing my junk but you are welcome to follow.

I doubt my wife will let me spend two nights there but we'll figure something out as the time gets closer. What time are things supposed to start then? I guess I should look elsewhere on the forum for that info.

Here's a pic that I snapped with my phone. It's not the greatest but gives people an idea of what I've got. I'm at work so I can't do better right now. I wish I had some more action pics but here is a couple from before any mods.

I'm working at the Schlumberger bulk plant at Intracoastal right now, but it's just temporary until I get my own rig in a few months.

Yeah, it had that vinyl carpet in it which I thought was great until one day a few weeks ago when I lifted a piece that was under the back seat and I had beetles living under it in the padding. I mean, I've had plants growing out from under it a few times but I thought that just meant my vehicle was "green" and I was giving back to nature. Having moving creatures making a home in my truck was too far. I pulled all of that crap out last week and plasticoated the whole inside. It looks a lot better now, although my PTSD kicks in whenever a large rock hits the bottom of the body and lets off a big BOOM! I guess that vinyl took some of the decibels off of the impacts.
