Thanks, I took my own carb off the truck and brought it from AZ on the plane last weekend and am starting to rebuild it; oh the smell of carb cleaner in the heat . I thought it might be nice to have a spare for reference and parts

no offense, but the price is just not right - at minimum it lacks a proper roll cage and traction devices to clear anything half the asking price in my perspective.......

Agreed but although I don't want to buy it, maybe some kid wants it to drive back and forth to school, climb curbs at the mall and wants to be "flashy". Again, not my rig or my color preference... someone will want it. It has a fiberglass front end as well. "Worth" is a strange word. Whomever built the sliders did a very good job though!

Its a nice rig, and reliable. There are a few things I don't care for I would have done a little different the yellow paint, I did Orange the seats looked good 8 years ago but I wouldn't have went there. The fiberglass front end at the time looked good in the Spectre catalog but when it came in wasn't that impressive. He added 4 or 5 extra layers of fiberglass to it to beef it up. I had robbed the front end or the front end wasn't on it as I bought this rig as a parts truck and he wanted to buy it and build it. The frame, drivetrain and tub were done right with all the blasting treatment and undercoating via Rhino Liner. Crate GM 350, advanced-adapter, rebuilt 4 spd, with a 3spd transfer case out of my 70, 4 wheel disc brakes. I helped a good friend build it years ago it was his daily driver for several years.

Free to a good home... or bad, no matter

Authentic Kangaroo killer directly from Australia. Free to anyone who may want it. Come by and get it, or I'll pay for the shipping in Lafayette or Iberia parishes

In good shape minus the one ding on the left hand side, damaged from a small, slow Aborigine.

Sorry for the poor pic. Only one I've got for now.

I'm tempted, just for the hell of it. That's the original roo killer, right? That's the model that throws them under the vehicle as compared to the new ones that throw them over the hood and through the windshield? WOW!

Oh well...

1979 FJ40

Hate to do it...but it's time for now.
I have some pics below but it's going back to "stock" in regards to seating, mirrors, console, bumper/winch etc..

4" TPI Lift w/ Black Diamonds all around
Original 2F w/ 139K
Weber on top
"New" (as told to me) radiator and water pump
TPI Family Cage
Safari top for the cage
Hard top in excellent shape.
Doors (front and ambi's)
Runs very very well and has never given me any problems
Mechanically sound
Will throw in 5 new BFG's 33x12.50.15's MT's w/ < 400 mi on them for $1K

Has some rust in the DS rocker and pan, and PS pan as well as the bed. The PO put some plating in the rear which worked well for me when I put in my rear bench.
Had a boo boo in Gilmer which most know about ...lol. I have the new rear cross member that I'll throw in as well.

Paid $10,500 for it .... just can't see that it's worth 10K in my mind. "Worth" is a funny word but would like to get $8,000 for the rig. Wish I could keep it and if I had a shop maybe I would. Gonna put some $ into the Troopy and look for another 40 another day.

me

Day it arrived:

Rocker:

DS Pan:

PS Pan:

Safely hung:

Lots of good times... she will be missed.

Not quite right my friend. It was really meant to go w/ the rig. It would cost more than that to replace the tires and rims. Didn't really want to sell em as they'd go on the Troopy but if it made it a better sell I'd let em go.

We can talk about what you have on your truck if they have any tread left bud ...and go from there if you wanted. However, I'll still loan em to you for a few beers for the SCC.

3 sp. Transmission

Anyone want or need a 3sp tranny? If not it's going in the dumpster. Let me know and I can deliver to the Crawl.

Later,

Got some real nice BFG All-Terrain 31x10.50x15 with a LOT of tread left. Bought these from Cruiserschwing and now that I'm lifting the old girl up, I need to get some new shoes. I am willing to trade if anyone is looking to downsize. 5 tires in all with probably over 90% tread left on them.

Will post pics when I take some.
