Spoke to David Puckett in person for awhile today, good to see him. He has been very busy with selling and buying a new house. He will be parting with his 40 he purchased a few months ago for the lack of time and space to be able to breathe life back in the old girl. Club members have first stab at it he's asking what he paid for it $1500 dollars. He'll be sending me more pics soon when he gets out there to take some. In the meantime you can get an idea from the bslca.com website, Member Rigs look for David Puckett. 76 FJ40 needs the motor rebuilt or replaced and rear quarters from what he says. I haven't seen it in person. Its worth more than $1500 in parts. Someone take it before it eats at me and I go get it. Jason this may be right up your alley bud. Quick turn around to having a rig on the road.

It is Deryl, it wouldn't take much to get it going. Could source a used 2F here on mud and swap in and be ready to go. If someone buys it and does swap another engine I'd buy the one in there to build up. I'd like to build a spare to keep on a stand in the shop. I could use two right now. my wish list never ends.

Old Post...
Mike and I were talking today about this old post. I know he went through a great deal of trouble to price out many things and price them fairly. I'm not sure that he still has all this (or any) but wanted to post it for him.

I have far too many parts to list here. I have filled several pages in a notebook of parts, however, since most of us are restoring our rigs, I doubt that anyone will be interested in any of the used stuff that's still available new from Toyota. Many of the parts I have were simply no longer needed due to upgrades. If there is ANYTHING you are looking for, send me a PM, as I may have it. Also, I mainly would like to get rid of the BIG ITEMS, since I can't walk in my small tool room with these in the way! I'm content to have to small parts around for a swap meet
All parts off of a November 1977 (1978) FJ40:
1. A nice Toyota gas tank (replaced but didn't find any rust, or problems. Didn't need replacing. poured some Marvel oil in it to keep it from rusting and put it back in the box the new tank came in. $50 and its yours...pickup only. Will throw in a Brand new sending unit (IOW:You can have this is you take the above tank out of here!)
3. Weber 38/38 w/air cleaner and adapter plate, manifold bolts, etc. complete kit for mechanical linkages. (not cable, though could be setup for that). $200.00 BTW, I ran this unit for only a couple thousand miles...about a year only.
4. Complete Heater unit (all brass fittings etc.) No leaks. No rust. This way taken out when the Air conditioning was installed. $30
5. Blower motor/fan. Both speeds work. With resistor $25
6. CCOT quarter panel patch kit (L and R sides) Bought this for another FJ40, just taking up space. $50 for both pieces. I would have been able to use this if I wouldn't have smashed up my sides!!! LOL. ($150+ from CCOT).
7. Like new Voltage Regulator ( 27700-60100-84 fits 9/76-5/78) This is from Toyota. NOT AFTERMARKET. Happily buy this back if you aren't satisfied with it. $20 (looks brand new).
8. Toyota Heater valve (9/73 to 84) like new condition. #67240-80010.
also gone when converted to A/C $25
9. Coil and Igniter assembly (fully electronic). $75
Oh, yeah, I have the large cap 80's type distributor used in the 80's models including FJ60 in mint condition (doesn't need anything...) Electronic (no points), requires lifter/side cover to fit FJ40. $100. Very nice dizzy.
Pair of factory Toyota running boards in good condition for trade or take $50 OBO. That's taking up a nice bit of space...
That's it for now. I am happy to entertain trades in person or by voice. I have tons of misc. parts, engine parts, duct work, turn signals, lights, etc...just ask!

Mike, if this isn't it or you need to edit it or even delete it ...let me know
Sorry it fell victim to when Landry and I first tried to merge some threads. (However, I'll take the blame for that one)

No worries bud. I know he'll appreciate it. Mike said he was gonna go try to look at it and Pucket wants to try to keep it in the club. If he passes... we'll post it up or Marty will know.
If we had the space, Landry and I would have bought it already!

Puckett's apparently VERY busy. Spoke with him Saturday, and that's it. I want it unless there major holes thru it. Sounded good enuff to me. I'm just cash-in-hand hoping to hear back from him that's all. Left a voicemail at 6pm. Still NADA....If it doesn't work out, I'm looking at a few Diesels...

Not on the club directory though I wouldn't go without Puckett's blessing.

I think that if it works and he'd come down... get it. Even if it doesn't "work" ...they are fairly simple inside...according to Theriot. I got frustrated w/ ours and gave it to Theriot.
...it sits on the front of his rig.
However, ask Theriot. If you paid $450 for the winch, ~$200 for motor (if needed), cleaning, etc.. Remember a new one is $1,000 shipped to your door

If it works and for the right price I'd say yes Corey.

We think alike Scott. I don't see spending 700 for a used winch, when a new one is 1000.00 and it has never yanked out a heep

Jason, I just got word that there is a yellow late 70's model FJ40 at the road For Sale on Perkins, between College and the Acadiana Thruway. My boss just got back from a meeting in BR and told me about it. If you have time to venture over there and get some pics that would be awesome.
