Does that FJ run Deryl? Scott? Larry? I remember when y'all went to see it and remember those pics when the Ocean Springs guy put them up for sale first on eBay.

Very nice guy but If I remember all the glass in that thing and the anodized wheels from the salt water... I'd give him $200 for the tires and call it a day.
Larry may be a better souce ... I'd pass.

No much good to talk about. For $800 or so it may be worth it to make it a trail rig. It didn't run and he said the block was full of mud so your're not getting a running rig.

Speaking of nice rigs...I still can't stop thinking of the "stable" of 45 pickups...was that real? Or, did I dream that???

I do not yet know a ton about these beasts but I will definitely work my way out of NewB status.
I'm not very mechanically inclined and have decided I will do better buying a nice rig with no rust that getting into a project car. That being said, can anyone vouch for this Monroe FJ? Does anything jump out at you guys as a red flag or anything like that? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Alex

Welcome Alex glad to have you. By what I see on his listing it looks like a very nice clean rig, but there is nothing like seeing it in person. Our bud Marty has a friend in that area North Louisiana Redneck I beleive is what he goes by here. Nice fella and I'm sure he would be willing to go check it out and report his finding to you. The word passed down is he's looking to get 20K for it just an FYI. Keep in touch, we plan to make a visit with the NO guys real soon.

Once Ryan gets back up to Monroe, he's going take a look at it up close and report back. He's seen it driving around town and says it's beautiful. I'll let you know what he finds out.

Scott swapped a few emails with him, correct me if I'm wrong Scott but aparantly it didn't sell on Ebay and he's not to broke up about it. He decided to keep it and was interested in joining the club. He will most likely meet us at Sicily for the Labor Day weekend ride.

Australian 8-blade Fan for sale or trade
If anyone with an older FJ40 w/o fan clutch is interested, well I have a brand new Australian 8-blade fan that I cannot use. I won't fit on my rig. I have a '78 and I am also running an FJ60 fan clutch (works better for me IMHO). I don't have any cooling problems, I just wanted it! Anyway, it would fit on any regular rig without a fan clutch---F or 2F.

That sucks bud, if you still have it when Dad brings the rig down I'll take it and put it on there.
