Just got off the phone with Jeff Menard with the nice tan FJ60 he will be putting it for sale and wants to offer it up to the cruiser community first. I'll post pics and more details when he writes back. From the tid bits I got off the phone it has a new motor, clutch, extra set of black rims and is a California rig. Asking $5800 He's keeping the FJ62 and is being moved to Houston. I asked him to bring it to the Musson event but he'll be in Houston Saturday. I'll see if there is a way he'll let us get it there.

Miles is keeping his rig, and wants our help to get it right. Bad vibrations in the front end, and its running badly. I told him meeting us at Musson Saturday is a good place to start, and we'd be happy to help. I hope he'll make it.

What about the guy in Perry? I'd like to see his and find out what kind of condition it's in. I'd like to go out there Thursday afternoon if possible.

Ernie's a good guy, spoke to him 45 min Saturday was really thinking of keeping it and joining the club. He wanted to make Sunday's meeting but had something going on. He knows of the Musson event and I think he'll come. I'll call and remind him, if you get to go tomorrow pump him up about coming I don't think it'll take much. I want to go but can't get away this week.

We don't know that yet. I'm working on going see it tomorrow or this weekend at some point. It's not that far away, in Perry, LA I think (south of Abbeville).
How does a full soft top go on something like that?

A soft top. Like one of those Pakistani deals y'all are getting. I'll see if I can find a picture to help with this question.

My Best Top was easy to install. Drill a few holes, install the mounting hardware, screw on the mounting plate for the arms, drape over the top, then snap it into place. Though i believe the Pakistani top is different then the besttop, but i cant imagine it being any harder

1972 FJ40 Land Cruiser***SOLD***
There's plenty of pics scattered around here of the truck in various stages of rebuild, but here's the scoop:
1972 FJ40 "F" Engine
Complete 6 month resto-mod
New Freeborn Red paint inside & out
Toyota clear rock guard on interior
New emblems
New metal welded in on rear sill and rockers
no floor rust through
Rear wheel wells clearanced
completely reworked front doors w/new window rubber & weather stripping (closes with one finger)
New Ehsan (from Pakistan) tan canvas doors*
New Ehsan tan canvas top & complete hardware & bows/headers*
New OME Suspension
OME Steering stabilizer
Greaseable anti-inversion shackles
Greaseable bushings
33x9.5 BFG AT KO on factory wheels & factory hubcaps
Professionally rebuilt "F" engine with ~10,000 miles, holds 40psi oil pressure.
Aisin carb (non-USA with vacuum advance)
1976 Aluminum valve cover (will not leak)
minitruck PS conversion (relocated alternator)
Optima battery with new custom heavy-duty cables
EZ-Locker rear
LockRight front
73-78 bucket seats on OEM brackets
73-78 center console (powder coated)
MAF disc brake conversion
knuckle job
1976 hood (has working windshield squirter)
Con-Fer front bumper (C-channel, bobbed & angled)
OEM (late-model) roll bar
skid plate
OEM tire carrier
Ramsey Pro Plus 8000 winch (rebuilt by Ramsey)
OEM Toyota exhaust
AVM hubs (2 pr.)
Warn hubs
The speedometer was professionally refurbished
all gauges work
Halogen headlights
Parking brake system rebuilt
New brake steel brake lines, new extended length rubber brake lines
About 5 crates of parts & stuff including (but not limited to):
4 spd tranny (needs output shaft replaced, shaft included), bell housing, clutch cover, all gaskets
3spd t-case rebuild kit and linkages to connect it to the 4 speed trans.
1976 steering column to convert to column ignition and self-canceling turn signals
Refurbished rear heater & factory copper tubes to plumb it (wiring in place)
spare coarse birfs
spare rear axles
spare front hubs
Service Manuals
Lots of new parts installed and tons of labor.
*The Ehsan top and soft doors are uninstalled. This is what the truck will look like (this is not my truck) with the top & doors:
I am really reluctant to part with it, but I have too many irons in the fire right now. The truck is not perfect, it is 35 years old and has some flaws I chose not to correct, but overall is about as nice a one as you can find. It was built to be great-looking, reliable and trail ready- I would drive it across the United States & wheel it without hesitation.
There's probably close to $25,000 in it including the spare parts, I think it'll easily bring over $20k on Ebay... so therefore I would settle for $20,000 to avoid the hassle of Ebay. It will be sold, so I'll entertain any fair offer.
Email me at valkyrie610 (at) yahoo.com if you are interested... please, serious inquiries from Toyota enthusiasts only.

I appreciate the support guys- obviously it wasn't an easy decision, but sometime you have to play the cards that are dealt.
I just want it to have a good home with an appreciative owner who will get enjoyment out of it.
