I do beleive that guy did all his own work and if so very clean and wish those skills would just fall into laps and not have to be perfected over the years

Thats just character and still plenty potential for a good rig, its a cruiser if it was cheap you'd be in a Jeep Comb the classifieds threads I buy ans sell parts all the time and you can pick up plenty good parts from folks parting out or upgrading.

Here is a photo of my labor of love FJ4X?
I took a 1965 Fj40 and cut the entire rusty rear end off. rebuilt it all from scratch, moved the windshield forward and rebuilt the front portion of the doors. redesigned the roof line to pay hommage to the trucks of the 20's and 30's and am now working on finish welds and getting ready for paint.
rear truck bed is trex style decking, I used 14 gauge cold rolled steel sheets and a lot of cutting wheels and saws all blades. I dig it. What do you think so far?

Man, I was looking at some of the old Toyota trucks and now I see where you are getting your inspiration from. Pretty cool, yet very strange to see for the first time.

My 66
I hadn't posted any pictures of my 66 FJ40 so I decided to go ahead and show her off. She is an ongoing work in progress that I hope to have completed before I die of old age.

No, it doesn't have a rear locker. I wish I did. The rear locker comes with the TRD off road package; mine is a SR5.

I like it. Wheel the hell out of it and work on it as you go. It'll keep you inspired.

Is there more than one event? I just know about a meeting at BWW.
I do have drill that weekend so I might not be able to make it; but I'll try.

Oh I just looked around the forum and got my dates straight.
The meeting is on the 18th right?
and there are some trail rides on the 17th. I certainly can't make any of the trail rides because of drill. I might be able to make the meeting on sunday.
