New addition to the family was dropped off this morning 2002 Sequoia Limited 4WD with 200K on it. Its been in the family since new so I know the track record and the miles are all HWY between TN and LFYT still runs like a top. Already started tearing it down on the interior to get it in top shape and will start on the drive train and suspension next. The wife wanted a 100 series so I've been glancing at a few on MUD here and there but this one fell in our lap and she always liked it for the room. It'll be a nice addition to the family.

No this will be her DD when I'm done with it, I ordered her the exact Santa Fe she wanted from AR and she was happy with it the last year or two because of the good mpg with all the running she does with the kids but that didn't last long. Its kinda of small loaded down with the kids, dog and gear on big trips and she always liked the Sequoia and lately eyeing the 100 series.

me too and if she'd let it would be lifted with ARB for MTN exploring. She said don't touch at least for now

Storage the other pass side is the rear AC, it has a removable panel in the floor for jack and spare tire tools.

Well it sure didn't take you long to start tearing it apart. Congrats.

My buddy's wife has one and they have never had a problem with it in the last 6 years.

I've been very impressed with the 4.7 and drive train in the Tundra's & Sequoia's very solid and reliable. I don't know their limit in terms of mileage before having problems but I know they don't bat and eye up to 300K which my Dad has on his now. Its reduced to farm duty and the engine light is on with every emission code there is and it drives just fine. I used it in the MTN's the last time I was up there. Old Reliable, carted Dad 1400 miles from TN to Grand Isle every other week for 6 years. It did have the rear axle replaced 6 mths after he bought it. The first year models in 2000 had a bad batch of bearings but it wasn't an issue by time the Sequoia's came out in 02

yea your telling me about the bad bearings. My bearings decided to go out on the side of the road in front of Berryland Campers around Hammond. I still curse that spot when i drive by it. Toyota replaced the trans for free even when I was out of my warranty.

Thats right I remember you telling me about it locking up on you. Definitely not a good experience but I do have to say Toyota is always great when it comes to their warranty or recall work when they find out there is issues.

So they will change my ticking time bomb head gasket on my black 80?

I wish I could use one too I read some threads debating why Toyota didn't reacall the 80's for the head gasket where some went out prematurely but then you had many that went 200 - 300K without issues. I want to have mine reworked over the winter break so I don't have to worry about it

Eric Delaune the previous owner of Jeremy's Taco bought his wife a nice Trail Team edition FJ. They own the Tri-Running shop here in the shopping center. One week I drive by and its a nice looking stock Trail Team FJ, the next week its lifted 6 inches on what looks like 35's and stands out. Now that he's found our forum maybe he'll chime in. Looks great Eric
