State Surplus Auction

State of Louisiana has a monthly surplus auction(actually two auctions this month). They have some pretty interesting stuff sometimes- dental chairs, welding & shop equipment, exercise equipment, boat motors, computers, you name it . I've been to the auction site & have checked out the stuff but never stayed for the bidding. My co-worker said he got a really great deal on a good running truck, but his wife eventually made him sell it cause she said it was an eyesore
I might take the mrs. down there this weekend and get her one of the sewing machines, if she is interested.

My dad used to take me to those. They used to auction off old Wildlife and Fisheries 4x4s that were just awesome! You can find some good stuff out there.

TCC..

Remember these guys got in w/ us the same month and are sorta starting from the ground up like we are. So... I make my way over there every once in awhile to see how and what they're doing. Last, they were looking for a logo.

They did an awesome job! Tall Corn Cruisers

When Larry hits oil in his back yard (or gold, silver, or any other precious metal)... we're gonna get ours redone. I'm impressed with their work. Very nice.

That is a great job I like it alot, but it was professionally done. I like that we did ours on our own. I like our logo, but agree as time goes on we may want to have one professionlly done if thats what we decide. Right now spending money to create a logo is not a top priority for me, but if the group thinks we need to focus attention for a more professional logo I'll support the idea

We should think about using PHP for our site. We can do ANYTHING via PHP language. That's what we use now for ALL sites. IN fact, we have real computer programs written for web-based usage (such as phone log systems that page and email you, etc.. along with job tracking systems etc). There are even tons of open source apps like Nuke and others that already provide for logins and passwords, admin and other level access, etc. Just like MUD, along with DOWNLOADS sections, etc. This would be the way to go IMHO.

Just my 2cents worth.

BSLCA website update

Okay, just had a discussion about the website thing, and Anna and I decided that though we usually charge thousands for professional corporate sites that we do (custom graphics, PHP programming, etc), we would do it for free for BSLCA. Especially in lieu of all the hard work that Larry, Scott and Marty have already done. Would be the least we could do.

That woud be awesome, I'd have all kinda of time at night to turn wrenches. No, I'm sure you two are busy enough but we would surely like Anna's and your professional help to get us setup and going. Once its built I can maintain it. That is very nice of the both of you. We appreciate it greatly.

Hold on there big boy... We got enough overhead...lol ...and I like our little measly logo for now ...that someone put lots of love and hard work into... and a few breakfasts.

Now that I understand. Thanks much. We really appreciate you and your wife's help. I don't think we need "thousands" of dollars worth of your time (I don't think..lol) but we sure do appreciate any help you wanna give. (Understand this was all started by three stooges who know...well... squat). Agreed from above, we enjoy doing it and would be glad to keep doing it... but sure do appreciate any help you want to give.

Thanks again.

Just for that... free speculum exams for everyone at the crawfish boil!!

Thanks, M

Scott

My ass Oh Coonass. Coming your way.

Was in a good mood, just came in from playing in the shop. Finally looked in the three boxes of goodies that Johnny gave me with the red truck and there was all kinda good stuff brand new in the boxes never opened. Besides the new Master Cylinder, new brakes and new clutch master he put on. He has 2 new master cylinders, one new clutch master, new front pads and much more all new in the boxes. Could swear he was building three rigs.

Clear sticker

I can't help think how awesome a clear one would look for inside/winshield placement. Might just reverse B&W and image for that?dunno.

I also like the idea of a round (ala TLCA) one for the KICK OUT VENT!

Well, I'm going play with some parts...

I agree 100%. That's what we ordered.. but they made a boo boo. No problems... we said we'd take em and try em out. She did say (and we agreed) that the 3" clear is hard to see ...

.... Next will be a 5" clear printed in reverse for my rear window of my truck!

...?reverse the black and white..??? splain me this ...

Our gracious sponsor....

Kelly Patout-Romero and her husband, Bart had their first babies this morning at ~ 0730.

Little girl - 4# 3oz ... and a little boy - 5# 1oz. They are a little "early" but all are well and residing at Women's and Children's.

Thanks to them for all of their help in our little club and congrats!

Scott

I fixed the gas smell in my cab finally! For those that don't know, I have all new hoses and new gas tank, filler, everything, but traced in down this AM to the top of the separator. hose clamp was loose! No more fuel vapors FINALLY! LOL

Another note:

I discovered a "fix" for the back of TOYOTA EMBLEMS on our rigs. If you've ever replaced your emblems, you know that they no longer have the "clips" that go on the backs. I found the PERFECT and ideal replacement part this morning.
