Monthly Meetings?

Hey guys...

When is your next monthly meeting? I've been traveling to Cincy a couple of weeks a month and would love to attend...if you let non-members come ??

I would also love to drive out sometime instead of flying and bring lil red. I'll keep checking in to see what you got planned.

Sorry I been working in Vegas again. so I been out of the Loop a little bit. So Paragon was a bit far for me.

Since I am one of the few RotR clan that gets online, sorry I forgot to respond.

Meetings are 3rd Thursday of the month. Recenty held at a Lukes house.

Hope all is well with you and your kin, and you had a good time at Paragone. Maybe someday I will make it there. It's not that far from us. Wl when you compare it to some of the places we been.

Paul? you and frydaddy doing the World tour again? You bring your trucks out or did you get the new one runnin or buy a tow rig?

Frydaddy is waiting for the new Trans to come in for his tow rig. My new trail rig is on the back patio. Axle is on the bench getting shaved. Lots of sheet metal missing

I just got back from 8 weeks working in Vegas again. No truck this time, just flew. Plan on going back for SEMA. Diesel may be to high for us to bring our tucks. But you never know.

Anyone know chris with the mustard yellow 40 / tubeout rear. I would like to know the secret for running a welder off of my 40. Chris if your out there this is mike from Tellico with the big blue fj 40.

Yea I know how to do it. Here is the instructions I gave him when I called him on the phone. It went something like this:

Hey we need a welder on our adventures. I got the shower, and I got no room. You need to get the welder. He was like where do I get the money for that. I say the way we always do, we hack it ourself with junk parts. Then he says figure it out, and I do it. OK I say. Get the bigest Ford alternater you can find that is externaly regulated. excite the winding with 12V and just run the stinger from the hot lead. Make the ground lead go back to the alternator so you don,t burn up your other electrics.. He was like I will try it.

A few weeks go by and he called and said it works. Then he came up with a cut extention cord to run a grinder. just clamps it to the welding leads. He thinks about putting an outlet on the truck, but then he would have to pack an extention cord to get to the back.

Our next idea was to put a light dimmer on the 12 exciting the field windings. and fine tunning it to run a tig. Then we can weld Aluminum radiators or maybe a Tcase back together. Mainly for the cool factor.

When I saw Chris a couple years ago at Tellico, he gave me a specific rod he was using for this setup. Do you have any idea what rods he was using?
