HDJ 81 Part # Thread

Because so many parts for these trucks are available off the shelf from North American Toyota or Lexus dealers and because so many aftermarket items are literally bolt ons - I would like to see a thread dedicated to the 81's hitting the roads here in Canada. Everything from oil filters to wipers, exhaust, belts and starters. Body parts is a grey area where many assume NA parts are the same but there can be big differences.

If you know of parts exlusive to JDM and not available in NA please list also.

Post em' if you have em'.

Model Year:
Item Description:
OEM Application:
Aftermarket:
JDM Part Number:
Toyota or Lexus #:
Price:
Satisfaction Rating: *

****
*****

Please stick to the above format without 'chat' to make the searching easier to use.

Maybe it should be over in the diesel section as a sticky just for this model. On outerlimits they do "bibles" stickies for each model of the Patrols. The "bible" should include threads on repairs and mods common to that model and part numbers. If you agree, why not PM Bown Bear?

Seems to me the majority of rigs in the diesel section are NA - there are so many 81's here now and most know about the JDM section - no matter to me where it might get placed though. .02

Replaced the Champion one on my wife's 91 Tercel from crappy tire. Spent the next 3 days chasing an electrical ghost until I decided to take it back to get bench tested. Yep, new alternator was toast. Had them bench test two more champion ones. Both failed and another rebuilt one which also failed and there was nothing left in store. I went down to Gerry's Automotive where I got a USA brand rebuild and it hasn't looked back. Will post up the brand name and number when my wife comes back.

Then in your case the satisfaction rating would be a big fat zero.

If we could keep the format clean and a short comment on modifications necessary for example.

Dan, when I look at the DIY site, the part number you have listed above is for a cylinder kit.
The pads show up for me as 04491-60170 This number referred to a pad 'kit' that has since been discontinued, the new number for the pads as referenced to me by Toyota is 04465-60020, same as you quoted above.

I stand corrected

And rotors for those interested as 43512-60050
