a trip report from the august long weekend. my wife, buddy and myself just came back from our first time on the whipsaw trail yesterday.
i wanted to see if a stock cruiser can make it unassisted so i left my locked and lifted 92HDJ81 at home and took my "new" stock 91 HDJ81 with instead. (i'll admit i have a 3 JDM cruiser problem!!)

oh yeah, we had a case of beer bet and of course some pride as well to NOT take any of the bypasses around the hard stuff so we can say we did the whole trail.
the trail was in good shape and the views were amazing.
even the hardest section up the hill was no problem at all but the one rocky section quite a ways after the top of the hill needed a bit of finesse to get through undamaged. being stock there were quitea few places where the bumpers were close to dragging but they never did.
the one nasty mud puddle that had buried a F250 was a bit of work because there was a 4 ft drop to get into it and i dragged some bumper on that for sure but the puddle had a good bottom so that helped.
needless to say i was very impressed with the capability of a stock 80 series and we survived undamaged but VERY dusty!
it was cool to see some nice looking JDM cruisers out there having a good time as well. although i didnt see any other 80 series out there? mmmmm.
we had an awesome time and will definitely go back to do it again sometime.
cheers
