Ok, this is obviously voluntary but it would be a good start to getting everyone together. If everyone would fill out an unofficial Chicagoland/Illinois or “Windy City” registry with just some basic information about yourself and rig(s) that would be great. Gumby made a valiant effort a few years ago to try and get things going and it ended up being me, him and one other person showing. So I am going to give it another try, I have a few ideas that I would like to try via this forum. Again all information is strictly voluntary and if the moderators feel that this is inappropriate in any way then please let me know and I will quickly delete it. Thanks, Scott

2. TLCA NUMBER: -exp(2*pi*j) 3. LOCATION: Far NW suburbs (Cary) 4. TOYOTA 4x4 VEHICLES: 97 FZJ80, 87 RN61 5. MODIFICATIONS: 97 FZJ80 - None worth describing. I did just replace the two gaskets between the cats and the exhaust pipe tho! Torching off those rusted lumps of M10 hardware sure was satisfying. 87 RN61 (4Runner to the non-Toyota nuts) - many; in a nutshell, its ready to (try to) go anywhere in the Midwest. Driver stupidity's the only thing holding it back. 6. WHEELING EXPERIENCE: Sporadically, ever since I was a kid (it was a balloon-tired three-wheel Honda Big Red back then, ah memories). Now, its pretty much only in my mind. :( I'd love to get together as a group, even if just to shoot the shiite, over a family restaurant meal with families, and/or over a brew at a hole in the wall. I vote for something like RAM brewery in Schaumburg if singles, or something like Egglectic Cafe if its families, someplace with room to seat a mid/large sized group and not too crowded, but yet still good food/drink. USED AS WEEKEND TRAVELER TO FISH IN TX HILL COUNTRY AND PARK OUTSIDE OF GENERAL STORE. MY CURRENT FJ40 IS MY SECOND. FIRST WAS A MESS 75FJ40. THIS NEW ONE HAS A HISTORY BEFORE THE REBUILD IN 00. A GUY BY THE NAME OF "WILD BILL" ALLEGEDLY TRAVELED TO 49 STATES, INCLUDING ALASKA, IN THIS CRUISER. THE TRIP TOOK HIM THE BETTER PART OF 3 YEARS AND HE ALLEGEDLY STAYED IN A HOMEBUILT CAMPER ATTACHED ON THE ROOF TO SLEEP AT NIGHT. I USE THE TERM ALLEGEDLY BECAUSE THE STORY DID COME FROM A GUY CALLED WILD BILL. |
