Mt. McCaslin 13-15 June

Trying to gauge interest in a run to Mt. McCaslin on Fathers Day weekend. Looks like Brian (Oldnslo) and I will be breaking out our LC's for the run. I'm leaving the FJC at home and just taking the 62.

We'll be camping Friday and Saturday night and heading back Sunday afternoon. It'll be the only fathers day gift you'll actually enjoy!

It's a privately owned ORP in Lakewood Wisconsin about 90 miles NW of Greenbay. They have some great trails anywhere from mild to carnage. I did it stock in my FJC last year but kept to the mostly mild/moderate stuff. There was a lot of trails we didn't take that I'd love to handle in the 62. Some of the info about the place is here. Welcome To McCaslin Mountain Campground There's also a couple of threads with pics in the Blue Room McCaslin Mountain, WI run. Sept 28-30 - Toyota FJ Cruiser Forum and here McCaslin Mountain, WI. Drive your 60 that far and you'll be too crippled to walk.

It's 5+ hours for me from O'Hare. In the 62 it'll be a bit longer. I'm currently trying to modify a Lazy Boy Lounger to fit instead of the stock seats.

I'm up for some 4wheeling that weekend (see my other post), and I haven't been to McCaslin in a few years. I used to go every year for Spring Fling in May back when it was a little crazier. In fact that was before Woody was married, and he had that big Turd of a trailer, if I recall.
My favorite was Thunder Mtn, with the big hill and all the rocks, I would go up and down that for hours. I hear it is blocked/closed off now, or at least was a few years ago.

It'll be good to have you along Kenton! The place was a ball the last time I was up there. I'm looking forward to a nice rock crawling session. There's a couple of the FJC guys wanting to come along too but they only want to ride shotgun. Seems they don't like rocks.

I got a GPS map in pdf format if you want to gander at it. It's from November of 07. PM me you email and I'll send it to you.
