Did We Lose Data?

For grins and giggles today I started searching from "last to first" just to see some stuff I had not seen or I had not remembered. The "last" page on the 80's Forum is 41, and the "last" post was from reffug on like 09/24/04. Shit, I remember reading back in 08 of 03 and even then there were tons of threads. Did we lose some data or was this something that happened during the server switch? Sorry, did not know what area to post this and since the 80 tech is my "home" and the forum I am asking about here, just thought this was as good a place as any to ask about this. Thanks.

just did a quick try with the search engine and it went back to 9/03 so it may just be the "visible" links.

So, E, or other computer experts, is that done to save bandwidth? If not, why was it done? This is not a complaint or concern but the thing is it is cool to go through the pages and see and read all the things that you might not need to actually search for specifically. I mean seriously, think of all there is to learn about nut and shaft shaving or whatever that would not really get punched into search but is still super valuable info!

Not sure about 'losing data' , though Woody would be the guy to answer that .. and maybe post it in the help section .

I found posts as far back as Xmas '02 . You will find different results by searching different forums . Some seem to go back further ... or perhaps they do because some storage quota has not been met yet ??

Woodrow has a better chance of seeing it and responding down here.

Wait 'till he sells that GM product and gets him a real rig and we'll see him lurking around the 80s forum all the time.

each forum is set with a limited number of visible posts. This does effect load times for pages. Searching has no limits tho.

just the way it was setup....sale/wanted stuff is like 45 days, most others are 1 year....gotta draw a line somewhere....

fwiw, when the servers were migrated over from scumsuck I went through like every post in the 80's section. Dang there was a lot of stuff in there. Too bad others never read the older posts.
