It is a testament to the activity and longevity of Mud that maybe makes this a necessity... now? Later? Beer with me...

I get search. I am down with search. But the years of enlightenment on here makes even an "advanced search" clunky and lacking cause you get a screen of possibilities based on if you're using the "right" search phrases or not. Yes, it narrows it down, but you do have to...search...for what you want. And failing that, you ask for help and get flamed.

What if everything was searchable by "tags"-- simpler, more to the point, tags. Wonder if that would help.

Am thinking it would (but retrofitting everything to tags would be a nightmare I guess.) Anyway, a vote for tags fwiw.

HAD Tags...vBulletin failed in their execution and don't allow Tags to be specific to forum sections...and the use of Tags in Chat destroyed their usefulness.

vB 4.0 has a changed/improved search system, and 'MUD is part of the Alpha testing group. Hope to have it loaded and testing in July, and live for the masses in August.

Perhaps Tags will be properly done as well.

Suspected as much. I figured it was an issue with the back end. Cool-- good to know its a possibility. I do think it will help streamline things when its properly done. Thx Woodman.
