E-Mail Notifications

I get the daily e-mail notifications on all the thread I post too except the For Sale and Parts Wanted section. I do get them from the Parting Out section.

Is there something I need to change on my settings?

I doubt we are the only ones. But I am wondering if its has something to do with the number of subscriptions we have...I am at about 88...you?

I did not get an e-mail notification this morning as well.

Using the Quick Links and selecting subscribed threads I'm at 5,476.

Yeah, so probably not that then. What email program are you using? I am using hotmail. But I don't see it in my junk and I have added woody@ih8mud.com to my addresses.

I'm using earthlink and then directs it to my outlook after SPAM has been.

I have alway received them before. Woody is in my list of contacts.

add the general domain "ih8mud.com" to the list of approvals....not just the email addy

couple others have mentioned notification issues tho...need to do some more testing on it and see if I can duplicate it...

I just subscribed to an active Chat thread and received two instant notifications on new posts...it's working fine for me....

can't test the daily one tho, since I'm online too much....lol

OK here's the thing: If you are subscribed to a boat load of threads, or if you are subscribed to TUT or some other retarded thread that gets millions of notifications per hour, your mail provider will freak out and go "Hey, this server (ih8mud) is sending my subscriber a TON of email! We'll fix them up really good." and then they add ih8mud's server to a list of email servers that are only allowed to send mails at limited rate. The result? You end up with emails that are late or never come.

I'll work with Woody to get your email addresses and check the logs for deferred mail. That is the telltale right there.

Then again I could be completely wrong and you guys are using yahoo and hotmail or aol or netzero or something and you deserve it.

that's actually quite funny.....since rykoala uses gmail and the number of spammers on the forum with gmail addresses is just as popular as any other free service - lol

Yahoo has not given me issues, and I use my YM account on a few forums for "stealth" purposes....

Not sure. I still get emails from other sources to my account with hotmail.com. I will try changing my email address. In the user CP and see what happens.

I just registered for a hotmail account and changed a test username in the forum to that account

the activation codes did NOT come thru, even after adding @ih8mud.com to the approved email listing

I'll check later today, in case they are delayed....but suspect I'll just need to remove ALL hotmail accounts from the forum options....no point in getting 100's of emails from folks who can't register....

Yahoo works....gmail works....

FYI: I just submitted Feedback to Hotmail on the issue...with LOTS of luck they'll respond

Well so far no notification emails after the change to matthew.r.kelley@us.army.mil . I did get your email about the confirmation being sent to hotmail...so I know I can get emails from @ih8mud.com in the us.army.mil address. Also my Silver Star is gone.

I've never had a problem with my hotmail account with forgotten password e-mails

oh, just checked, it's actually my wife's account that has my hotmail account as an e-mail addy... anyway, I've gotten mail from you with no problems in the past

star is fixed....balance I have no idea on.....perhaps your ISP is blocking them before they even get to your computer.....

email addy changes have always messed subscriptions....irritating for everyone....

BTW: rykoala JUST made some changes to the sendmail stuff, and my yahoo test account is now WORKING!! Notification/Subscription stuff should all be working again (well, other than the little bug I haven't fixed....but threads should again...)
