Marking all as read ...

[glow=black,2,2] I have done this on more than one occassion , leaving me going .. "WTF" ?! . If you 'mark all as read' as your last action on the site , and then leave the browser , as I do all the time . When you come back to it later , if you hit refresh , which seems like the thing to do , you will again 'mark all as read' !! Inadvertently negating any of the 'new' markers ... :slap: [/glow]

[glow=black,2,2] Well , it ain't a conspiracy thing ya know ... just the inherent functionality of the browser . If you weren't so busy suckin diet coke thru your crazy straw , you'd have picked more of this up . : :P [/glow]

Marking all as read ...

[glow=black,2,2] Perhaps my original point was overlooked ... However to answer your question as to 'why someone would mark something read that they had not actually read ..' ? Personally I make a point of it once I've scanned the forums , and am at a loss to find anything I could really care less about at the time . Essentially I am providing my own timestamp ... clearing off all the 'new' flags . Next time I peruse the forums , I will again be hit with 'current' updates , regardless of whether I originally had any interest , or not ... [/glow]

Re:Marking all as read ...

When I hit "Mark as Read" I get a blank browser window.
Always have.
Multiple browsers, too. Only one that it doesn't do it on is IE.
Not a problem, really, but also doesn't seem to be the normal behaviour.
*shrug* Not really sure I even have a point. It's way past my bedtime.
