The best solution for what you are working on is to have the forum software automatically thumbnail all uploaded images....actually, considering Gallery and lots of other similar software do it, it shouldn't be too tough....just study the parts of their software that apply to the resizing and resaving, and apply it to the YaBB software.

Not sure if the next software upgrade has that option or not, but will check. No mods available for YaBB-SE tho...

I completely agree with you Woody , new automated software will be wonderful . If folks , in the meantime though , want to use this method until the new software has a chance to be implemented , then I am willing to do a thorough writeup on it , starting from joining an image service , and ending with using the codes here correctly .

But I'll await your go ahead ...

go for it....just make sure their process allows linking and such...some places frown on that....
