Glad to hear that you and the WheelinEvents.com model will be making the trip, you going to bring any other folks up from the area with yah? Maybe #209?

Who is welcome

I am a member of NAXJA, and drive a 2001 XJ Annivesary edition. I grew up in Lisbon, just east of Cedar Rapids about 15 miles. I left town and moved to Tennessee before I got into off-roading.

I have to be in Marion on August 30 for a meeting. I toyed with the idea of driving up on Thursday so I can be in Lisbon on Friday for the football game, then wheeling on Saturday and Sunday before my Monday meeting. However, without a decent wheeling opporunity I am not going to drive a trail rig 1200 miles round trip!!!

So I poked around and found Andy, the president of MIOBI, who is also a NAXJA member and he turned me onto this event. The dates work perfectly into my calendar.

So my first question is:

Would I be welcome at the event without a Toyota vehicle?

If the answer is yes, then I will check back with some follow up questions so and perhaps make the registration to attend the event.

Thanks y'all.

Absolutely welcome, albeit a "Toyota" event, it's open to all 4x4 vehicles.

I'm looking for a mudship ride for a tailgate in the Virginia area (or Iron Pig Offroad) to Iowa... please let me know if anyone coming to the Tall Corn event can help.

thx

OK, finally got off of my butt and registered. One question though - do I need to buy meal tickets for kids? Ages are 9, 6, and 3.

Registered and looking forward to some mud.

MOIBI Meeting

I attended today at Lovilla and people were asking how many were registered for TCC. I said I didn't know, but people are not registering much ahead of any events this year. There is a tree in the way somewhere down by the cement bridge that needs to be moved and next Sunday some are supposed to show up with winches to pull it off the trail. It isn't too big but has a large root ball attached to it. If they don't get it moved we will have to move it before people can wheel. Just will take a chainsaw and couple of winches. Keep watch on MOIBI site to see what is happening, I guess.

I have to bow out entirely. Both boys have Boy Scout stuff on Friday nite and Saturday and I am still having to work on Sunday. I won't be down at all which sucks, but family comes first. Sorry guys. :frown:

Huh, I saw you register at the new MIOBI site, but I didn't think to ask if you were going to the meeting. I had intended on being there but work called and doubletime isn't anything to be sneezed at. Faulty linkage setup on a sump fill valve at Valley High, took awhile to get it fixed.

But they didn't elect me VP, so that's good.

The rootball has been separated from the tree and it's barely passable now. It will still be a bit of work to get the concrete crossing cleared of the tree\ball but it can be done in a few minutes I bet. Anyone with a winch available on friday might speak up and maybe get it out of there Friday.

What day is everyone going to be getting there? The event is official on Thursday.

I should be there Thursday at about 11 am. I am planning on bringing a chain saw in case the tree is still in the way.

Sounds like a recovery mission for Woody to me. :D But I will do it if needed.

Thursday

I plan to be there around lunch time. I can use my winch to see if it still works. I can help set up, also, and fill in where ever- Larry

Right now, planning on being there Thursday morning, probably late morning.

Calling Any Tallcorn Guys

Could any Tallcorn Iowa guy leave a phone number or e-mail for me? I'm in Iowa City, recently moved back here after 18 years in SW Colorado. Have a totally built crawler in my driveway that needs some action. Registration site for Tallcorn classic doesn't give any info...or i may just be stupid.. But I really want to talk to the owner of the land cuz I can't get down there til Saturday and I'm wondering if I could bring my rig down on Wednesday night. See, I'm trying to sell it, cuz there isn't any wheelin' in Iowa? and...I don't have anywhere to park it anymore. Thought maybe I could park it there with For Sale sign until I can get there Saturday. What town is it in anyway?
