You got that right...fishing with your kid's is the best! No better way to be together.

first pic: my kid leaning into his first big fish, a 30lb striper (don't be fooled by the slight bend in the rod...that is a serious stick...as thick as your pinky at the tip!) My brother is in the background setting a rig and my old man (the master) is giving directions while staying dry.
second pic: my nephew leaning into one (slightly lighter rod) with my brother giving directions and I'm setting another rig in the background
third pic: (repost) my younger boy (on the left) holding HIS first big fish with the help of his cousin
we caught 19 fish that size that weekend
Oh, and that's Queens, NY. People are always surprised what we catch in NYC.

That's awesome!!! The smiles say it all.

And Scott, you can come fishing anytime my friend. You have the crazy schedule but I'm ready to tangle with some tuna, dolphin or something.

A Fishy Story
Two avid fishermen go on a fishing trip. They rent all the equipment: the reels, the rods, the wading suits, the rowboat, the car, and even a cabin in the woods. They spend a fortune.

The first day they go fishing, but they don't catch anything. The same thing happens on the second day, and on the third day. It goes on like this until finally, on the last day of their vacation, one of the men catches a fish.

As they're driving home they're really depressed. One guy turns to the other and says, "Do you realize that this one lousy fish we caught cost us fifteen hundred dollars?"

The other guy says, "Wow! It's a good thing we didn't catch any more!"

I finally got eyes on a fish in one of the lakes here. It was as I was on short final to Liberty Main Pad. The lake here is where Saddam had a bunch of palaces and stuff around. Anyways this thing was very dark and from my 75 foot altitude I would guess that it was at least 3 feet long, not moving very fast. I think it's some kind of carp or something. If I can work it I still plan to make it down there to try to catch em. The lakes are only like 10 feet deep with lots of weedbeds and junk in the bottom, super clear water too.

Just made me want to go fishin when I saw it.

Maybe we should convert one of those old palaces into a Bass Pro Shops or Cabela's. Might change the face of that entire nation.

My first fishing trip
My father handed me a pole
cast it out and let me go

Didn't know what to do
just reeled in and reeled out

till there was a trout
on the shore
at the end of my line

I caught a fish
without even tryin

My father then taught me
how to cast & reel correctly

and I caugh no fish
the rest of the trip

Launching boat Portland style!

This is me and my Father going Bass fishing off portland Bill, England. The boat is pushed down over rocky ledges on a trailer using the trusty cruiser then winched down into the water with a hand operated crane. Keep fit the fun way!

It's a triploid released from Eastern Wash. University, you can see the tag near it's dorsal fin. It was 2lbs, 16" when it was released in 2003.

Finally got some ice. Had none last year.
We got 1 LM bass and I dorked something towards the end of the day.
Its a free for all type of ice fishing. We set up whatever tip-ups we have and
rules are whoever gets to it first gets the fish. Anything goes. Tackle Tip-Up.
Makes for an interesting time.
