Nice boat
Its all part of the trip...
I mostly use the Taco out of ease and convenience to tow.
But I like nothing more on a summer day in the 40 heading to my sanctuary.
Just got in..no fish this AM. Gonna watch my horrible Rangers end the season
and get back out on the lake.

Thanks for the compliment. Just refurbed whole boat. Floors, carpet, lights,
livewell, bilge, switches, depthfinder, wiring, seats.
Heres a before and after.

I've been meaning to ask you what boat was in all those pics. How's it do in heavy seas? Do you carry it on your Cruiser roof?

There are four sizes of boat 8,10,12,15' I think the price of them starts at about 1500us, but i am not certain.

My boat is a 12' model that does 24kph with mercury 6hp 4stroke, clocked it on the gps.

For a 12' boat it is very safe, it can handle up to kootenay lake 4' swells (not recommended) but i survived.
We use it in the sea for inshore fishing in sheltered waters.

The boat fits well on the roof of any cruiser and the seats and O/B fit in the back of the cruiser. And takes about 10 mins to set up.

All in all an EXCELENT BOAT for fishing and exploration, perfect for your TLC!

One other thing you can buy a sale kit for it as well...

The pic is of my close friend John having snooze while I fish.

Nicely done. I'm doing that this year to my 14' Lund, but it has the old fashioned seats that go all they way across, so it's more of a challenge. I haven't figured out how to build a rod locker yet - probably won't.

My floor plan looks like this:

I'm thinking of decking over the front and middle seats, at the current seat level, with some hatches for a livewell and dry storage and sockets for seats. I'll put a flat floor down between the middle and rear seats, and leave the stern open down to the hull. I think I'll put the trolling battery and gas tank inside the rear seat. Thinking of going with a wireless sonar system so I can move the monitor around...

Haven't figured out how to mount a trolling motor on the bow without taking up a lot of space...

Lovey, how much of the bow needs to be decked at gunwale level for that trolling motor? Is it a Minn Kota Power Drive?

Hells ya, that is a nice job on the refurb there. That is Zactly what I need. A 2 seater aluminum boat that either my 40 or my future Tacoma can pull with ease. Prolly get a 20-30 HP gas motor on it. I'll keep the canoe for gasless lakes. Damn it this thread makes me want to get out there and fish.

Heading to Fort Polk in Louisiana for some field training on Mon for a month. Totally bummed that I won't be able to fish while I'm there, should be some really nice fishing round there.

Oh, but once I'm back it's awn!

This is the ultimatest ultimate thread ever!

When I took everything apart I carefully removed the carpet.
I traced every piece of wood and carpet of the original pieces.
It is a Minn Kota power Drive. IIRC it sits on a 3/4" piece.
heres a close up

I know this isnt the original front motor. Whatever was there before probably
fit this piece. It measures 18"x7"x3/4".
I probably could have cut it shorter to have a cleaner look.
I'm happy with it

Thanks. My boat has a different bow shape. I'm not sure I can mount one of those without losing lots of room...

Now that would be fun.

Can you imagine getting paid to be a fishing guide with that.

What more could you want? Besides maybe twin turbine engines.

Unfortunately my camera doesn't have a macro setting. I will try the side lighting with the contrasting backgrounds though. Thanks for the tips. I love pics of flys too. Anybody else got some pics of saltwater flies they tie and use?
