My dog does that on the lake, but she chases the bubbles under the ice. If the ice is thin enough the bubbles move around as the dog does. Pretty funny. This is on my beach where the water is 6 inches deep, so not exactly unsafe... __________________ If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate. Post # 263 is one of my personal favorites.
Anyone do much flyfishing for bass, like on a lake perhaps? I'd like to try it being that there aren't any trout rivers or anything down here. __________________ 75 FJ40, it's like having a second job |

Sure, use big surface flies. It's pretty fun.

My son with his first 'big' bass of the summer.
One from early this spring. Last one is my son's first bass ever. Caught it on a live worm. __________________ 75 FJ40, it's like having a second job |

One of the little streams that runs through town. Take the kids down there to wade and catch little perch and stuff.
A couple of my funnier pics. This one is my buddy launching my new spinner bait up and into (almost over) a 50 foot tall tree. The wind just grabbed it and took it, I was like "what the hell are you doing?" then after messing with it for 5 minutes it fell right past the canoe and down into the water. Oh brother, it was funny. This one makes me laugh. First cast with my new rig (couple new rigs back) and I hook this little dude. Who does he think he is? Look at that tube and hook just crammed in that mouth. LOL. Vicious predators I tell ya. ![]() __________________ 75 FJ40, it's like having a second job |

Fly fishing for bass is fun. You don't usually sight fish, just cast into likely spots like next to logs or along weed lines. Big surface poppers - you strip them in jerks to make big splashes. The bass attack them with gusto. Very fun.
You can fish deep too, but then you may as well use spinning gear. __________________ If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate. '99 UZJ100 "The Iron Hippo" / '82 FJ40 "Mustard" / '73 FJ40 |

Here's another "Who does he think he is" fish that I caught up in Canada.

I would love to fish BC someday. Always enjoy fishing north of the border.
Here's a big bull dolphin from last summer. __________________ Capt. Jim Florida Land Cruiser Association North Florida Cruiserheads Upstate Cruisers TLCA #5390 |

Just a quick pic of a fly that works around these parts. A mini clouser tied in natural colours. Tan over white with an olive body. Beadchain eyes tied on a #4 or #6 Mustad 34007 hook. This is my standby fly when all else fails. I also use prawn and yabbie patterns, baitfish profiles and poppers but this was the only photo that turned out OK. Will post up more as I figure out how to take clearer photos.
