Need a holster for my H&K

Any of you gub guys have a good comfortable carry holster for the usp 40?

I need to buy one and was looking for advice.

I thought about trading it for the compact version for ease of concealed carry, but I love the size/fit of the "full" size frame....

I spent all my $ when buying the pistol so I bought a generic "large frame" holster.... You can see the butt of the gun poking out even when I wear a bigger size jacket

I'm thinking I need to buy myself a good x-mas present this year....

i prefer a shoulder rig. i happen to use an old M7.
with a, i assume full size 1911 frame, covering it will be a issue if you're anything less than a big guy. anything from the brand name guys would be a safe bet, i just don't happen to know of any

The holster is a "convertible" setup. You can put the strap on and make it a shoulder rig, or take it off and it's a regular holster. It's not very comfortable in either configuration

for semi cheap, like $40-50 look for a Ross Leather holster, they are from South Africa, I have one for my Kahr and my 340PD.......for the money it's a good holster.

I hate Galco stuff.....priced like custom leather.....and they aint custom

Mitch Rosen's Express line is darn good stuff and these guys stock alot of it
http://www.holster-connection.com/
nice folks to work with.

thses guys stock customs holsters, you pay a bit more but you don't have to wait 2+ months
http://www.lightningarms.com/products.htm

Rosen, Sparks, Alessi are all good stuff, lots of others out there as well. Del Fatti is suppose to be GREAT stuff.........but a year wait.

Kydex is uncomfotable for me for IWB........franky the only gun I can stand IWB is my Kahr PM9 in the Ross holster.....

Might also try HKpro forums, might find a deal on a used custom holster. I picked up a used Horseshoe Leather holster for my P7 from there.

I ordered a Safariland padle holster for my HK USP Expert 45......as I am not gonna try to concell that

now try this trick.......try to find a holster for a HK P7........

If you can afford the USP, I would recommend Galco leather.

Very expensive, but some of the finest available:

I have the concealed carry paddle holster: http://www.usgalco.com/Catalog/normal/CCP.JPG

and the Explorer (which is great for on the trail):

John, if you think it's tough to find leather for the P7, try to find them for the P7 as a LEFTIE!!! I've got two IWB, three duty holsters, and two leather SOB holsters for them.

Find your local police supply shop, go and see what is on offer, talk to the folks, find cops who carry that weapon and see if they also carry it off-duty. If so, see what their favorite solutions are. Depending on your frame, girth, and fashion habits, it may be a challenge. Most all the shops I am familiar with cater to duty leather and have a great selection of off-duty stuff as well. Give it a shot.

I had a Galco for my S&W 3913 9mm I used to have. I liked it alot. Should have never gotten rid of that pistol It was so comfortable to wear, I'd always forget I was wearing it.

Thanks for all the links....Now to find something that I like.

I did find my local police supply shop.....its Dougs place....and now only have enough money left for a Uncle Mikes

there are virtualy no P7's holsters made anymore for off the shelf grab and go. Most are all custom and have a long wait(2 weeks to a year)

I have been doing lots of research for a custom holster . I have a Horseshoe Leather IWB that should be here today....see how that feels and go from there for a custom job.

oh, will a M8 and M13 fit the same holsters? I think they do.

have you seen this site?
http://www.parkcitiestactical.com/cg...ultimatebb.cgi

And I thought Cruiserhead were obsesed

John

Ih ave heard good things about them. Like I said, you pay a bit(but not alot) more and you don't have to wait a year.

I have heard nothing but rave reeviews on the Milt Sparks Versa Max 2

let us know what you find.
