Wow, I am picturing a room off the garage that has a safe door and when you open it, it looks like an armory. The door is right next to the shelf with boxes of Toyota parts and Gear oil.

couldn't help myself......add to my list......a SW 638 Bodyguard, used, but unfired, with box, hand crafted local made padel holster, boot grips(never seen these) out the door for $220 funny story on how we stumbled on it.......but it pays to get to the gun store before they open and chat with old ladies in the parking lot

next stop..........couldn't pass up the good stuff for a good price

Lakecity M855, green tip. sealed can, in 10 round striper clips, bandolers, loaders, Grade 1 stuff

Gotta' get that folder to show thumbnails for posting. I wanted this one up. This is one of my benchrest rifles, homebuilt on a Nesika action (in Poulsbo, John), chambered by yours truly in 6ppc.

Dieseldog, I notice your 6.5x55 Swedes. I've got a couple of them one of which is a target rifle using the 1896 action built for the Swedish national rifle team. It doesn't look military but has the crest and the straight bolt handle.

Hey pimp....is that lakecity in boxes or loose? The loose stuff has had some issues....if its that you might wanna take a decent look at it while your loading it. Guys have found overseated bullets and damaged primers in some of it.

Pimp, my 337 AirLiteTi has the very same boot grips that your Bodyguard has. Mighty small grip surface for my big hands; however, I'll tell you that when I'm off-duty, it's the gun that is my constant companion--usually in an ankle holster. I'm not much for pocket carry. Mine is so light that on the ankle, it pretty much just disappears. That boot grip helps prevent it from patterning on my pants too. If you carry on your ankle, stay away from rubber grips.

Honk, I love those Swede Mausers--they are nail drivers to be sure. I love the ballistics of that round and find that most rifles coming onto the market are far from being shot out. I bought two and sporterized them identically--with the exception being that one is set up for iron sights and the other for scope. Both are reliable and accurate. My Krag and Lee-Enfield are two others notable for astounding accuracy. Beautiful bores and nothing special required for them to perform well. I have a strong love for Mauser-actioned military bolt action rifles.

its 840rounds of green tip loaded in striper clips in cardborad boxs, loaded in new bandolers, in a sealed(tag) can, its M855.........brand new #1 current mil issue. Its not seconds. Not XM855(2nds) or loose or anything but top of the line new stuff. I know about the loose XM855 and other possible problem rounds, thanks for caring though

Do you know who made those grips?

I do(or have been) carry my 340PD in on my ankle, but with Houge Bantam grips, I ONLY wear jeans so the rubber grips have not been an issue for me, but a very good point. Not sure how those smooth little grips would feel with the 357mag.....

I swaped out the 340 for the 642 the other day, its OK on the ankle, but you reeally can feel the 3oz difference. In cargo shorts(ALL I wear in the summer) I really like the 340pd in a Mitch Rosen pocket holster, it actaully carries better then the Seecamp do to the 340 speading the wieght over a greater area. In jeans(or dockers, yeah I have A pair I like the Seecamp in my front pocket.

As I am not wild about the access from an ankle holster, I got the Kahr to carry IWB, only had it a few days but so far its working well IWB, which I have not enjoyed IWB carry with anyother guns, so if the Kahr works for this I will be happy. IMOP the Kahr while only 18oz loaded it too heavy for pocket carry, I have tried the snubies IWB but they are just a bit too wide feel comfortable for me, same with my glock. but the HP is very comfy, just too heavy for my liking.

Going to the range today to see how the Crimson Trace laser works out on Connies 642, I have mixed feeling about a laser for Connie, I don't want it to be a crutch for her.

John

I picked up this Spanish Mauser FR8 in 7.62 Nato308 a few years ago at Big Five, it was $150 and unfired(sense re-bareled in the 50's). Vintage 1950's, interesting gun, its a half bread CETME and Mauser

Pimp, on my 337 the grips I have came with it from the factory, as I'm certain the grips you show in the picture did as well. Just revel in your good luck and know that for many carry modes, they work better than the rubber type. When you have to use the gun, it'll be just fine--TRUST ME. So long as you have put in the practice time and have developed your skills, it'll be fine.

Some folks don't like ankle carry; however, for me, it's nearly ideal. And the light weight of the gun makes it even better. It does take practice to learn the draw, but it's a good, solid way to carry.

BTW, I agree with the point about the laser for Connie. Make her develop her skills without it. It'll be there when she needs it.
