Nice 64 While I was hunting for the 65, I contemplated just getting a Model 64 M&P if I got antsy. Glad I waited
Yeah I hear ya on the rubber, it is how the gub came to me, and I haven't switched them out yet. I actually got two sets of stocks along with the 60 when I bought it. So, the question now is Walnut, or Rosewood

Hey LP, if I post up a pic and some #'s can you ID my .41 S&W? I've never been able to ID exactly what I have model/frame wise...
I found a webpage of a bunch S&W pic's and narrowed it down to 2 different frames but then there were a few little details on each that didn't seem to match (at least based on appearance).

Thanks.
I had a hell of time getting a decent picture, no decent light I guess..
With the wheel cyl open there is some engraving, MOD. 58 (never noticed this and am guessing that will partially answer my question?) and 30282 and what appears to be a "F"

Like shouldn't carry it around the woods as my bear gun $$$?
What would the "up to 1977" part mean? Limited production runs? LE only? Guy who sold it to my dad claimed it was a CHP gun.

1968
yes N frame 41 mag, fixed sights
only 20k or so made
yes it was to be a duty gun, CHP might be correct
will have to look at sales, but my guess is that $800 or so

Finally got my Eagle Secret Service stocks for my Model 60. Pretty nice reeling grips, good palm weld and the checkering keeps the grips from shifting while you fire, and doesn't grab your clothes carrying IWB like the rubber ones.
Here is is with it's bigger brother, another 1969 manufactured gub 29-2

great grips(stocks) they do what the stock grips and a t grip does
oddly I dont have a normal 60, just a 60-4 which is a 3" adjustable sight version, great gun.

I like 'em. I got a set of the Secret Service grips used at a gub show for one of my k-frames, and loved them. They are pretty low profile and have a good cut for speedloaders. I love the look of the presentation style grips, but these are more functional and concealable

the rubber Houge Bantams on my 340PD(every single freaking day gun for 5 years) are worn so smooth they dont stick to cloths anymore ....thats prolly from years of my with my hand on the grip in my pocket.....its sure not from shooting it 10,000 rounds
actaully the Magna T-grip combo is slimmer and smaller than anything else out there that I can think off or have, I'd have them on my 340 but I know "any" rubber helps with that monster
640 357 with stags and t grips, replaced the stags as they were very thick(but really filled the hand nice) with magna's
this is 19 snub.....very compact comepare to most others
my model 12 snub uses a J frame t-grip on the skinny 12 magna's, talk about a sweet combo, 14oz 6 shot K frame, mine is an pre 12

Wow. I thought I had an addiction. Kudos Sir!
I especially like the little number second on the left, second row up from the bottom
with the rosewood grips. Performance Center piece?
Looks like it packs some punch.
Man oh man, I'm green with envy. I love the S&W wheel guns.

Those grips are dead ringers for the PC grips.
I didn't mean to fuel your acquisition urges.
I have just one PC S&W wheeler. 44 mag. model 627
I see it's a little long for your tastes.
My fav is the model 36 Chief's Special in nickle. Purdy thing
for the ol Lady. Those stubbies just look so right in a J frame.

Speaking of a pimping piece....I love my nickle Colt 45. For chits and giggles I have a set of
pearl grips I can put on. I prefer the Pachmars but those pearl boys on a semi-auto 45 in nickle
are just toooo hilarious. For shizzle.

skinny barrel 64, cool, dont think there were alot of those, most had the heavy barrel, the 64 is just a model 10 in stainless. Actaully I was suppose to buy one of those from a guy on mud....forget what happened but we had a deal and then is went away?
guess on the 64, its a early 70's gun
all 19 had the same heavy barrel, 13/65 etc
