perhaps this additional pic, though not of great quality, will help explain things...

That window over the garage there doesn't look too bad either...

I would have to say that the deer is 3.5 or maybe 4.5. He has a little sway in his back. It is hard to say he would have been a lot larger a month ago due to the rut. He has already run some of the weight off. He has good mass and well outside the ears.

Agree with 4.5

There is just a tiny bit of sway in his back (but no belly yet). His underline is straight (not tapered as in a younger buck nor bellied as in an older animal).

Too, his neck is just blending with his brisket, but the brisket itself is not real pronounced yet (it become more so in later years).

He has just now reached the age where his skeletal structure is complete, so in coming years the nutrients he receives will start to show up more in antler growth/mass.

He has a lot of potential to make a trophy class main frame.

I would have to say that we are on the same page when it comes to aging. He probably had a little of a gut before he started running it off. Second his legs are already filled out as well. It is hard to really to tell the about the chest. the pic is hard to see.

I think those bucks need to be taken with a truck. Why else do we have an ARB?

Maybe 190 gross, if scored as a Non-Typical (two extra points on his right side, one each on his front and rear forks).

His "net" if scored Typical would probably leave him a bit short.

Boone and Crockett Club

Nice buck though.
