New Remington R-25 (AR-10) rifle in 243, 7-08 & 308

Remington Model R-25™

I guess Remington is taking this merger with Bushmaster very seriously. First the R-15, which is an AR-15 based rifle specifically designed for coyote and predator hunting, and now this larger (AR-10 size) rifle for big game hunting.

Pumpernickel mit Saurerkrauten from der Delicatessen, mit Liverwurst, Hassenpfeffer, und der Chattanooga Choo-Choo! Gesundheit!

Now they just need to add .338 Federal to the group... to round things out. (.243, 7mm-08, .308, .338 Federal)

The parent cartridge for all of them is the .308, so just a barrel swap would allow you to shoot all four offerings from the same rifle.

A 338 Federal R25 would be high on my list. I just got a call that the elk are tearing up the orchards again. I really need to get an elk gun!

The 308 might suffice but the 338 would be ideal.

Damn fine looking gun right there. I've been looking at these:

DPMS: AR-15 Rifles, Parts and Accessories.

You can get one for around $1200 or so. MSRP on the Remington is $1500. Not sure about retail pricing though.

When looking at these upsized AR15 rifles, inquire what magazines are being used. Most are propriatary and unique to that one manufacturer.
