I doubt it. Earle and that rat are roughly the same size, except the rat easily outweighs Earle.
But...a rat competing for food or territory could definitely dish out some misery for a inexperienced juvenile Squirrel. I don't know, I'm grasping at straws really. Just trying to understand/rationalize why Ealre might have "left" rather than accept that he may have been "killed". ![]() I'll keep looking for him and continue putting his food out .
