I inherited some ammunition
Unfortunately, the guns were all sold off before I could get em. At one point my uncle had every caliber Weatherby Mark V and every caliber Vanguard all with Zeiss optics. Also had about 15 pistols. I once , and I mean ONCE, shot the Weatherby 460, Wanted no part of that at all.
All that was left was some ammunition and several Puma knives. I sold 900 rounds of 45 auto and several pistol holsters. So onto my question. I have boxes of Weatherby 270, 7mm and a couple boxes of 300 but have no idea as to how to price em. I was offered $15 bucks a box but that seemed low for Weatherby. I was thinking $20 a box Any thoughts? Please don't view this as trying to sell it here as I don't want to ship it all over the place. I just want some help in the pricing department. Sure enough. A good friend of mine for the past 24 years got the friend deal. 900 rounds of 45 auto for $165. That was a screaming deasl but he also helped me turn a few wrenches when I did my head gasket.
Nat I have always enjoyed your posts. If you need any 45 holsters hit me up on a pm. Also, the Ammo I am trying to price is factory Weatherby in the original boxes. That was a low ball offer for the Weatherby ammo. If they are factory loads you should be able to pull down three times that. You can sell it on gunbroker.com and get twice that at least. For three or four boxes it might not be worth it. For 10 boxes I would sell it on line. If you need help I am on a bunch of gun forums and could help you out.

Thanks Fly Rod
I have 10 boxes of 7mm, 10 boxes of 270 and 2 boxes of 300. I looked at a specific Weatherby forum to get an idea but no prices were listed. Seems like on line is the way to go. Can someone enlighten me on shipping ammo? I would assume it would have to be UPS or Fedex. Shipping ammo is no big deal other than the cost due to weight. UPS is your only option at this time. The outside of the box must be marked ORMD Small Arms Ammunition.
I just sold @ 10 boxes of 22-250. I went to our local everything store and asked for a box to ship ammo. They gave me a Remington box that had the appropriate markings. UPS required an adault signature wich adds a little more to the shipping cost. Over all no big deal. There is a big difference in the cost of the loads you have. Check the boxes and get the exact load info. The premium loads with Barnes and Swift bullets are very pricey. If they are just Nosler then they are not as expensive. Also, Some of the older Weatherby boxes are worth as much as the ammo alone. So if you have old boxes don't trash them before checking. If you have unloaded brass for some of the bigger stuff it is worth quite a bit. ![]() __________________ Fly Rod '95 FZJ80 with stuff. I have a double handed rod... ![]() Jefferson State Cruisers |

Is that a 300 Ultra mag? If yes, I am interested. Thank you.
