A Great Mothers Day Wakeup

This mothers day at 6am, heard this loud CRASH in the dining room(9x9 tiles for the floor). I roll outta bed and this is what I find. I am hoping the taxidermist can fix this. I have had this hanging for about 6 yrs. Needless to say the best bow kill I have ever had

I think the mounting bracket is mickey mouse needless to say...

It's hard for me to say, but the mounting bracket doesn't seem to have failed you. Did the screw/nail fail? Why/how did it fall? Either way, it still sucks, and I feel for ya.

The screw was fine. I did take a pic of it, for no apparent reason. We don't have earthquakes here. The only thing I can think of is- I have a Finnish blue frost fox pelt hanging from the neck(around it). Sometimes people will grab or touch it. Maybe 6 yrs. of that moved it just enuff.......

Same thing

I was asleep in the living room less than a month ago, when I got this stabbing pain in my leg. I didn't know what the hell had happened. I was confused as hell. One of my deer heads had fell off the wall about 10 feet off the ground.

My wife heard me scream from the bedroom, but she wasn't that concerned because she just went back to sleep. She realized what had happened the next morning when she saw the deer head over in a chair. I had a huge bruise and knot right on my hip. I'm glad it didn't fall on my head.

Anyway, I had my heads hanging from drywall screws. They actually have a little shoulder to them which will allow the bracket to slide up the shoulder and off the screw. This deer had fallen once before.

I went to the hardware store and found some betters screws for the job. Have not had a problem since.

Yeah, I met him years ago at an Archery Shop in Austin.

Interesting fellow.

The screw in question was also a nice drywall type screw. I am wondering if maybe a hoop/hook bracket would be better. All of my ducks have those.....
