Thanks. It was a blast and I couldn't get the grin off my face.

I made a rookie mistake when I posted. I only read page 1 and then posted a reply with those pics. After that I saw page 2 and all of the landscape and 40 pics. Man, that must have been awesome. Great pics! I sure am glad you did not roll that 40 down the mountain.

I am not sure that you could call what we did "hunting".

I might be a pig slayer but I don't know about a pig hunter.

This guy is probably the king pig hunter:

Took my first pig about a month ago down in GA. We used the dogs to bay the pig...then let loose a catch dog to control the "business" end. While the catch dog has that end...another guys rushes around and takes the back legs. Break loose the catch dog and leash the bay dogs. Now what...?? Time to go in with a blade, just behind the shoulder blade. The pig is down in about 5 secs, literally. Its the quickest way. Also you need to understand that these things live in the swap...in brush so thick you cant see them if they were 2 feet away in some places. I would love to have a comfortable shot with a rifle...but thats not gonna happen here!

Mine was 225pds, all black, small cutters though. Caped him out and will mount, 99% of Taxi's dont mount original cutters anyway, so I may go with a little larger ones for the mount.

I do carry a .45 loaded with 265gr chunks, and a compressed load for personal protection.

Sweet pics man...awesome country...

i hope you don't mean you're paying high end, unless they take you up in a helo, they should be paying you.

that would be like charging terminx to come hunt cock-roaches in your kitchen.

That is what the Governator has done to us in Cali. Used to be 5 tags for $10. Now, 1 tag for $17.50.

All this for a feral animal that wreaks havoc on our farmlands, property and causes numerous people to drive off of the PCH by Big Sur every year trying to avoid them in the road.

Ridiculous.

From what I understand, in Texas it is shoot all you want on site for non-native animals. That is how it should be.
