M1A gunsmitth needed
I have a M1A from springfield, its had less than 200 rds through it and i'm in the need of a GOOD gunsmith/armorer to do some work on it, its having some feed problems as well as the bolt carrier is jamming to the rear when cycling. Also need to have the rings done properly for the scope as the gent i used initially didn't seem to know that much about them. Im in Nor Cal.

One of the best if your serious.
M1-M1A-AR15.COM ... Clint Fowler Rifles ... Custom Riflesmithing ... M1/M1A Garand, AR15 Look into an ARMS 18 mount. It enables you to remove and reattach your scope without a rezero. The best. Check out Fulton Armory, they worked on my Garand.

Hi,
I would google California Highpower or Nationalmatchus.com and they will steer you to an M1A rifle plumber. Mark |

Remove the stock and op rod spring and do the gravity slide test by tilting it up and down 45 degrees as outlined in the USGI M14 tech manual to find out where it is binding. You may be able to find a pdf of this manual on line. Basically you strip it to just the op rod and keep adding back parts until you find what makes it bind.
If you really want someone else to do it here is a list of M1A gubsmiths: Gunsmiths / Armorers who work on M-14 type rifles. - M-14 Firing Line Public Forum |
