You shoot one and 9 jump up and say WTF was that? You then take try to take out the other 9 but more 10 more jump up and say WTF was that.

You just can't keep up.

That is a beautiful thing, my friend.

When we go piggy hunting, we usually spend the mid-day popping whistle pigs.

Funny thing is, we can sit there and blow up squirrels all around bunnies but the bunnies never move. Almost like they know we aren't going to shoot them.

The most rabbits I shot in 1 hours was 35. Neighbor had a big "wild game feed" at his house the next day. IH8Cleaning Rabbits.

The best is wild rabbit stew over home made polenta.

Good shit, Maynard.

Wow! Beautiful scenery! I know you said you were shooting on BLM land, but how do you know no one else is taking a hike or riding a mountain bike while you're plinking?

Here in Massachusetts, someone would call the police if there was random target practice on state or federal land.

We always know our backdrop. The mountains that go up behind where we are shooting would not allow for the issues you speak of.

The place were we camp and shoot is EXTREMELY remote and vast.

In 12 years of going up there I have never seen a mountain bike, ever.

From the website:

Shooting Restrictions: For safety reasons, there is NO SHOOTING allowed within 100 yards of any developed parking area throughout the Resource Area. Hunters must abide by all California Department of Fish and Game Regulations. Certain types of guns and ammunition are prohibited on public lands. Contact the Law Enforcement rangers at (831) 630-5000 for specific information regarding guns and ammunition, or send them e-mail.

We are miles from any developed anything when we shoot.

Well it sure looks and sounds like everyone had fun! I wish we had that kind of shooting access around here. Just about the only place you can shoot a rifle would be at a range, and the 1000 yard ranges are a little difficult to find.

Well, California is pretty big. Lots of open land.

Mass is not particularly gun friendly either. Not that Ca. is, but...

Tell me about gun friendly! I live in a rural exurb of Boston that has 3 gun clubs in a 5 mile radius and yet you can't shoot on your private land. In fact, on every road leading into our town there are signs stating No shooting in......

I think at a town meeting the year before I moved in, the citizens voted in favor of the regulation. Now, if I had been there, I would have stood up at Town Meeting and made ruckus. It's a bogus rule that is basically covered by other state regs. such as no shooting within 500 feet of a dwelling.

Anyway, I digress. It looks like you get to shoot in beautiful places.
