Pissing me off we can't get 1911 frames here

I guess because of California rules about drop tests, we can not buy a 1911 frame from a FFL.

I was looking at Caspian frames last night.........and their Damascus steel slides

I got to thinking, maybe I should design a .22lr single shot slide that can be put on a frame. Wouldn't need a trigger, just pull back the firing pin

My other course of action, get somebody like a LEO to get one and do a PPT.

Or, you could go to the big show with me in Reno at the end of the month and pick one up there. Fuggetaboutit.

But Nat you should be thanking the state for protecting you from yourself. You should write a nice letter to Nancy Pelsoi, Barbara Boxer or Diane Feinstein. Then start with the "A's" on the Democratic list of legislatures here in CA.

I'm sure all of them would love to hear how grateful you are for gun legislation.

Actually nat if you look into it, you'll find that it has nothing to do with protecting yourself from yourself, rather the California Health Department ran thorough tests and found that 1911 frames are now KNOW by the state of California to cause cancer. True story.

Skillet, what show in Reno? My father-in-law heads there every year for some kinda show, SEMA maybe?

Its all about the "drop test". Many companies modified thier
weapons to comport to the test, but alot of them have not.

If you find a gun in Cali you want, you can still get it, just can't
import new ones. Some FFL dealers will only sell 1911 style
weapons to LEO's but most still will sell to private partys who are
not LEO's.

What I would like to see happen is this:

ALL gun/ammo manufacturers refuse to sell their products/parts to the State of California, don't sell to anyone. Not it's citizens, not the Police, the Military, the National Guard.....NOBODY!

Betcha all the "gun control" nonsense would come to a screeching halt pretty damn quick.

That's pretty much what Barrett did with the 50BMG guns.

Cali banned 50 BMG for civilian use, so Barrett said they will
not sell to anyone in Cali, including Law enforcement.

Here is another.......maybe those who don't agree with gun control or other controls that california institutes should move out of the state, There are some really nice states not that far east of you that you would probably like.........really I'm serious. Just don't go to Illinios you will just find that it is California Minor.

Here is one that is a little far fetched............Just tell all the stark raving liberals that there is a protest rally protesting something really important, west of the major fault that runs through the state......then place a few well calculated charges along the fault and BAM the liberals go floating into the ocean and they get their own little liberal country that Hillary and Obama can actually be president over.

lunyou

Holy shit.

Then Barrett came up with this to bypass the law...

Horsesoldier RE:New long range toy, the Barrett.416 3/24/2006 6:42:53 PM
>>The .416 Barrett is Ronnie Barrett's answer to California AB 50, legislation that was passed in 2004 which classified all .50 BMG rifles as "Assault Weapons". This required registration of existing guns and prevented new sales and transfers.<< I like that the advertising for the new round/rifle combination stresses that trajectory, velocity, and accuracy are all improved. I guess that probably sounded a bit better in the literature than the "new Barret 'FU California Legislature .416' model." The best part is he'll probably sell more rifles in California now than had the lawmakers left their retarded fingers out of that particular cookie jar . . . >>Barrett refused to repair some Barrett rifles for the LAPD when Los Angeles passed the first ban on his products...<< Barrett's still stating in their advertising that they will not sell .50 caliber weapons to California state agencies, or provide any repair or service to existing weapons in state agencies inventories. I'm wondering if that extends to California ARNG Barretts -- not sure who else has them, but the company of 19th Group out in the LA area has some. I'll definitely give him some cool points for taking a stand.

I love watching guys with AR15's strapped across their backs playing blackjack.

I think what Barret did to LAPD and other CA LE agencies is fantastic.

Similar deal with Springfield's M-14. CA says no muzzle brake so SA swapped it out with a "weight compensator" for CA models. Many say it has improved the weapons accuracy off the shelf.

I could never leave CA. Where else are the politicians this entertaining?

Well loonie-you...............

I was just chatting with my Dad about this. If a Democrat would support 2nd ammendment rights, he/she would win broad support of moderate dems and moderate repubs.

If a Republican would support abortion rights, not shove lame prayer in school down our throats, etc.........he/she would win broad support of moderate dems and moderate repubs.

The moderates make up most of the country and I believe can compromise with each other.

The extremes of both parties should be ignored...............I believe you fall into that category.

Wasn't it Barret, that was seriously jerked around by the ATF? Seems I recall something about them trying to bankrupt him with there game playing, and finally a court battle. Bad ass weapons, reguardless . Al
