Good choice on the Sproingfield GI, good out of the box shooter with no frills
Yeah, they are the "ugly"(to hear most 1911 enthusiasts tell it) wrap around grips. I like them alot on the gun. These look like the have been lightly used.

I went back to the gun shop and he is holding the gun for me and got it out of the box again. It is definatly what I want to start my build on.

Hmm, Those aren't the ones that the gun has. I was wrong. Let me find a set that matches.

I think I found the error of my ways. I think the grips are actually the Hogue grips. I apologize for my error.

The Hogue grips ain't bad, they just wear out quicker, especially if you get Hoppes #9 or Break Free on them when you clean the gub. They get kinda tacky/sticky after a while.

Well a set of Crimson trace grips are in the near future plans for it, so I am not really worried about the grips.

Thats good to hear. I picked up a pro carry a while back and it has become my favorite piece. I worry about how long the frame will last though.

Well I don't know if I settled for the "best 1911" but I did settle for one that fits my needs, is the base for alot of custom 1911s, and was in my price range. I even got a free Wilson Combat magazine out of the deal(brand new). Here are a few pictures.

Oh yeah, Phrogg, they are Pachmeyr grips not Hogue.

I took this picture first but didn't post it b/c of the poor quality. But after noticing your picture again, I thought I needed to post it b/c they are strikingly simliary.
