In Alabama, you can't kill hens during spring season. I think killing hens would be very bad for the population as a whole. Turkeys don't take very long to become mature birds. One gobbler can knock up a bunch of hens. It may be better for hunting purposes, because the competition for hens would go up, and gobblers would come running to your calls.

There is absolutely no way that I would be able to handle that. I'd run those fuckers over with my truck if they pulled that shit on me.

The owner of the building got tired of turkey shit in the entry way so she had some guys come out and spray coyote urine around the front. I guess it worked as I don't step in turkey shit on my way in.
I told her I would take care of the problem for free and she just laughed.

We can't kill hens in the spring either. I'm sure your absolutely right. [the "game and fish" know what there doing]
It is a little frustrating though , when the birds are done , and we're just getting started. Can't be predicted.
BTW...Where are those deer pics , for my huntin' pic thread ?

You cannot use an actual rimfire .22 here for turkey but you can use airguns in .20 or higher.
I have this.
Nearly as powerful as a .22 LR but even louder so I have a supressor.
They also come in .25 and 9mm. Very effective.

Turkey hunting is the topic we're discussing if you can stop channeling Hunter Thompson long enough to join in.
