Up here that's referred to as 'claiming quiver rights'.

Picked up this guy on the way home this afternoon to show the kids. Nice male gray rat snake, about 4 1/2 feet long. True to form he gave me a little nip.

Should be fun though. There will be ten boats in our group. We drew two drops for the same dated. Yee haw.

Remember to put your life jacket on for every rapid. I lost a good friend about 10 years ago on that river. He crew up in Cambridge, and had been on the river twice a year for 25 years. One small rapid, they didn't put on their jackets and he went over. They found him 2 weeks later.

Be careful and have fun. Watch for snakes as well. They are just now coming out.

My Back yard on the 5th of April this year. about 60' from my back door. I have better pictures just can't put my fingers on them right now
If anyone is interested I'll post up some more. I also got about 30 minutes of video of the same bear 2 nights before. Cam right up on our patio and looked in the sliding glass door while I was filming it.

Porchbats

One of our pastimes this time of year.

Sitting on the porch at dusk as the bats do their Steevie Wonder thing eating bugs and wizzing by our heads.

I finally caught one on film last night. Try it, it's not easy
