Looks like you were just waiting to lay that on some innocent bystander.... but sorry to disappoint you. I was looking at the hooves; you know.. they are not split.
But some people are just ASSuming, and you know what they say about ASSuming...

Yep, cow hooves are split, just like all the ruminant animals, like elk, deer, buffalo, etc.

He's just giving his ol' lady a pedicure.

But seriously in soft ground those hooves kind of grow out of control, and have to be trimmed back once in a while.

I guess I should have known that.

Ok, I might as well embarrass myself even further : What about pigs?

Edit: Wait; something about "cloven", in the sense of split front and rear as well? (I know I could google it and find out in an instant, but...)

Can't tell if the scene is rural or urban. The hooves don't look shod.
We had a very similar accident when I was on a rescue squad in rural KY. A horse got loose from the rodeo. Went running up the highway on the wrong side. Car coming from the other way met up w/ the horse a the crest of a rise. Couldn't see is coming 'till it was too late.

Thats a beautiful snake, young adult looks like.

Love to see that one right after it had shed it's skin.

What's funny is I went to TWO aggie universities (one for undergrad., one for grad.), and had more than one girlfriend that did any/all of showing heifers/sheep, raising goats, barrel racing, on and on.

Just never "took", I guess.

Here is a bear I stalked for a while when I was scouting for elk. It was out of season so the pictures were the only thing I bagged.
There were two bears there but the other one took off when I got tired of snooping around and came out in plain view. I don't think this one saw humans before, cause he just kept hanging around. He even tried to sneak around behind me and get a whiff.
Please excuse the quality of my cheap disposable camera.

I take it back then, sorry.

We'll just chalk it up to poor retention.

Is it a really small bear and I'm just not seeing it, or did you forget to post the pic.

Went back and fixed it, and yes it was about a 2 year old cub.

I should really tell my story about why I hate 'possms

maggots, spaghetti, and a rat like marsupial.
