45acp wheel gun

So friday I just started driving and hitting the local gun stores/pawn shops...I had in itch to scratch and didnt really know what I was looking for, 6 or so stops latter.... I found this NIB late 90's vintage S&W 625 45acp 5"....I knew $450 was a good buy...so it came home.....and its a fun gun.

she sure is fast to re-load with the full or 1/2 moon clips

Landpimp, that is a nice price on that one for sure. It looks (from the pics) to be near unfired. Is it? I have been looking around for a one just like it for a while and have not found a clean one or one that was not priced like it was brand new. The five inchers have a nice balance to em. Have you seen the "new" 325 Smith is making now? Kinda interesting.

Good buy guy, congrats!

looked ANIB to me, all the paper work, just a faint turn line, if fired it was once I bet but its hard to tell on a stainless gun.

325 sounds like a light weight 45acp....hmm

gun was priced at $475, which is blue book....most Smiths are above book these days, but I offered $450 OTD....and got it, had a 2 pacts of 1/2 and full moon clips in the new packs(sealed, so suspect gun not fired) I also had my big S&W book with me which is closer to current value but still often a bit low

feel good, like most the Houge rubber grips, but I really prefer the look and most often the feel of wood.....but on a stainless the gun the rubber looks OK and shoots good.

Yep its the Scandium version.

I just got a pretty good deal on a Performance Center 327 TRR8 that a guy ordered and then changed his mind on once it came in. His loss=my gain. Its is kinda wierd holding an N frame that is so light. Lookin forward to puttin some lead down range with it.

these 25s are weird beasts.
Most accounts I've seen suggest they are unusually accurate, although why that would be so seems to be a bit of a mystery...

I'll have to get one myself someday...

Only 20... you cheapskate.
You could recoup some costs by selling tours of the Armory.
Ya lucky bastard.
I just signed off on a destruction order for a client of about 30
firearms. Most were junk but a Waffenfubur (sp) 50 cal black powder
caught my eye and a couple of S&W 38s. A Winchester 30-06 bolt action
single shot was also included. Gov't will turn 'em into scrap.
What a waste.

Why

Would anyone want to destroy collectable firearms when they could be sold for cash money? I mean come on, people will buy anything these days.

Beats me too. I suspect some of the gubs will find their way into law enforcement hands.

each department has its own policy, normaly set by the city council(or some other treehuger/anti gun asshat), some will sell the guns at acution, some will sell guns only to Mil/LE/Secutity, others destroy them(and loose out on income for new toys)

my local HK dealer pretty much gets all the police evidence guns in WA state....Tacoma PD melts theirs down :( but they are AFAIK the only agency in WA that does so.

got a S&W Bodyguard I am waiting on for the Orting WA PD to release from evidence.

3 weeks ago Kitsap PD brought in the 98-2001 guns(so many more to come)......there were 300+, 100 of those were all from one persons collection, husband passed away, wife took them to the PD and said take em.........there were 1/2 dozen Colt SAA in that pile and many other very nice guns....my guess is 50K+ of stuff.
