crushing and shredding an fj80
I have a heads-up on a '91 FJ80 with 220k miles that's been turned in on a cash-for-clunkers deal . If anyone needs small bits or pieces let me know ASAP I might be able to snatch something for you. obviously no engine or drivetrain parts, but vsv's switches, regultors, relays, etc. Let me know. Descriptions and pictures help me find your part.
Mike

I don't think the center caps will fit from a 15 inch rim on a 91.
It would not have lockers. They were not offered in 91.
The big money VSV, the one for the EGR system does not exist on a 3FE either.

We're here in Indianapolis. The interior is a very pale blue. I don't think it would be considered Grey. I'll have another look though. this time I've got my camera.
I'll snatch the headlights for you though, those are clear. Muhhhaha

I'll have a look at the door check Arjun, I'm not sure how those come apart. I'll see what I can do.

I'll get that, are you concerned about the color? I think it's a blue-ish. I'll double check today though.

Ahh yes, I'll at least take the drivers panel since someone kindly removed it already. I think there is a problem with the door latch since the driver's side door won't open. I'm sure I could get it opened if I tried hard enough though. We'll have a look.

Arj, I think that someone with a 4-runner (2nd gen) already swapped the L/C rims off of this one. I don't recall ever seeing these rims on an FJ80, but I could be wrong. Chances are that it's a no-go on the center caps, but I'll shoot a picture for you.

Jeeze don't worry, they're going to shred this thing! It's terrible! If someone can use the parts then the more the better! Even if It's just a dashboard switch, or an armrest pad, rear folding seats, anything to save a buck, and an OEM part from being destroyed. \
I worked at a Toyota Dealer for several years as a mechanic and I KNOW how expensive this stuff is new. $200+ for a power window regulator and motor! Pshyeah right! Pick-a-part is going to want $50, if you can even find an FJ80 there. If I had a bigger shed, I strip this thing down to a shell and just store these things for the right time, unfortunately my girl would probably make me sleep with the parts, in the shed. It would almost be worth it though.

Its actually the front passenger side I REALLY need. My wonderful sister did a fantastic job snapping the door check, which in turn destroyed my interior panel!
Thanks a whole lot! Though it is a terrible wast of an LC...
One last thing, I had my head lights taken apart yesterday, do you think its possible to get the driver side housing also? I took mine apart because it wont adjust
I'm going to try and work on it today, but i dont know how much i'll be able to do for it...

Fj80 (91-93 IIRC) shared the same 4 spoke 15" alloys as the sr5 4runners.

Rad, Good to know. Then they're the original wheels. I'll have a look at the center caps for sure.

I got both door panels, center caps, and door check. My memory must have faded to a pale blue, because this stuff does look grey. I didn't bring the special fancy cable for my pocket camera, but I do have pictures. When I get home I'll upload them.

Mike, the driver's seatbelt is badly shredded where the upper B-Pillar mount is. Are you still interested? It's pretty bad. Let me know.

Thanks a lot! Its really difficult to find "scrapped" cruisers up here. i've been looking for the last 2 months at different salvage yards... not one! which in another sense is a good thing.
Did you by chance take a whack at the headlight housing? *crosses fingers*

It looks like the powers that be put the kaibash on the whole spare parts program, but I was able to get a pair of door panels, the door check, and the center caps, which probably won't work for you, but they're neat looking anyway.
It is what it is, and it looks like Arjun is the big winner here. Sorry folks, it's over. Arj, PM me, and we'll figure out a way to get you the pieces. Where are you in N/W Indiana?

apparently one of the local Indianapolis yards is going to pick these up and they'll have them on their lot for a period of time. I'll keep track of the FJ80 and let everyone know where it ends up if I can. If nothing else it'll be a good one to find at the junkyard.
