It seems every time I get part of the cruiser apart, something else blows up somewhere. But I'm with Tony on this one, if it is not ready I'll go for the ride along program and the camping.

You just have to get used to it. That thing is quiet compared to my old K5.

You need a whole lot more PPE than just earplugs in that thing.

standard 33nnr ear plugs have an effective noise reduction of about 7db. I can add ear muffs as well for an additional 4db.....
On your (former) pig you would need laceration resistant gloves and a tetanus shot

Ok. Looks like, at this point, the rig ain't gonna be did. Not to mention my knee is still sore (not kidding) from 2 weeks ago @ Badlands.
So the big question is, who wants to live with me for 9 days in June? I don't mind rig hoppin, I just ain't missin this event & want to make sure there's a seat or 2 open for the entire trip. So if anyone wants a poor, brain dead, cripple to ride shot gun...I'm your man

It is all good dude. I will have plenty of room in my truck for your stuff as long as I can still sleep in it at night. No one's called my right seat yet.

Well I hate to say this but I'm not going to make it. The 40 could be loaded on the trailer and hauled over for the week, but it would not be ready to be wheeled as I like to. The steering wouldn't hold up long to the bigger tires and lower gears, especially with my right foot issues. So I'm going to stay home and spend more time in the garage.

Bummer, Mark. You could bring it over to my shop & let it set with my rig while we go have fun...then we'll finish them when we get back. Maybe the Cruiser Gnomes will fix them while we're gone.

Would it be possible to do just the first weekend at Washita? Just a thought, haven't seen you on the trails in a while.

I've checked out all the computer maps that I'm willing to and have 2 different links. To get to the Cracker Barrel on IL 157 take I70 west to exit 10, I255 south to exit 20, I64 east stay in right lane as it turns into the exit 9, IL 157 turn right to the Cracker Barrel.
Driving Directions Search - Rand McNally The Google map does'nt have MO AA listed and there are no signs for what they consider MO Y where you need to turn.
Here are the park to park directions.
37.0859,-92.73205 - Google Maps
Is it possible to get a count on how many rigs are coming now that a few have dropped out. I want to try and get us a deal on the park at Washita like a free night of primative camping. The last time we were there for 2 days it was $20 for the first day and $10 for the second when payed on entry. Primative camping was $5 a night.

I'm definitely in Bill. What day does everyone want to start the adventure? I have assumed Saturday, but I guess I need to make sure everyone else is on the same page.

I'm in.
I vote for a Saturday start time. I think I have the longest drive but I can be on the road early.

I just got out of my Thursday and Friday classes. The other class that was supposed to go all that week was canceled.
If I get my ass out in the shop instead of checking out the lunyou returns threads, the only other hurdle would be getting smaller.
I got to stop at the Arby's in Rolla and get lunyou to make me some curly fries.

Carl is in with his Runner and his friend Jeff will be wheeling his mostly stock 40.
Do we want to do any group meals? We have tried to get together a menu on the past for bigger events like this with good success. One year at GSMTR we had deep fried turkeys one day, a ton of buffalo wings another, burgers and dogs, etc. It made us pretty popular quick around the campground and I think we met every participant that year!

We like the idea but Washita and Flatnasty will probably not have a lot of other people there. Saturday is the most popular day at Washita from when I have been there. A group meal might be more appropriate at SMORR with the Tornado Alley Cruisers and some of the Ozark Mountain Cruisers being there if that is the intent.
With it being a little hard to get the Gateway guys to commit due to schedules, I only have 2 confirmed coming at this time. I would like to see about 4 or 5 from that group. They would be for Washita and SMORR only I expect.

Meals, I'm up for whatever. I will have a medium sized portable gas grill. I will gladly trade the use of my gas for some briquets that I will save and sell to Bill.

Sorry guys, I out for the whole deal. Had to rethink the whole thing and figured I'd be money and time ahead to stay home and spend the money on parts so I'm ready for the rest of the summer. This was not an easy conclusion to come to but I keep telling myself that it is best(maybe I'll belive it soon). So hopefully I WILL see you all SOON.

We need to also consider possibly pitching in for breakfast. I figure everyone will be on their own for lunch stuff. Who is good at planning menus. Clint will attest to the fact that I am not.

Last I spoke with Carl he was in.
Hey,BAMF, is poundin the fenders some kinda slang for jer¤in off? Or what....
I'll help out on some food, but you all know I'm a special needs child, so no deep fried stuff for me. I can cover my own groceries.
I'm ready to get show on the road
