Annual Meeting/Tech Day January 17, 2009
Put January 17 on your calendar for a Hoosier Cruiser good time at Carl's shop. Plan to get their early AM and just hang out for the day. Members can post up some ideas on what projects to tackle that might benefit the group as a whole. For example, if anyone is interested in learning how to patch rusted areas, I have a truck that needs a couple.
The other thing we will do is have our annual meeting. During the meeting, we set the event schedule for the coming year, collect membership dues (including TLCA subscription) and welcome new members, elect officers, and gather ideas for a successful year. Would suggest checking your schedules before this meeting so there are as few conflicts as possible. That also goes for finding out when other TLCA events are occuring that we might want to work around.
We also need to eat very well while we're there so post up what you would like to bring. Looking forward to a good time for all.
Ron

Sweet, I'll be able to make that. I have no project, unless someone wants to tackle the HG on the 80!
I'll bring a big pot of chili if someone can bring a grill or hot plate to keep it warm. I'll also bring all the trimmings and utensils (bowls, spoons, cheese, & onion)
Let me know if that'll work.

I plan on being there. I may have to work half a day. Hopefully I won't have to work at all that day.

Idea
I'll pitch in some chilly with cheese, onions, and soup cream.
Hey, I've got an idea. Why don't we have a gift exchange this year. Everyone bring something under say $20. Put your name in a hat and the winner pickup what's currently being showcased. Something that we all could use like: six (more like 8) quarts of oil, air freshener for: After a Badlands mud bogs, something from crusiercrap, a beanie from MUD, a teeshirt for a mud vendor, etc. Basically anything related to/needed for a cruiser.
Just an idea.

The gift exchange sounds like a good idea to me. I invited a dude I met that's interested in joining the club & wheeling. Don't know if he will show or not...I can bring Chili cheese dip & chips.

Since I struck a deal with Tony for a few items, I'll be stopping by during your Tech Day. I probably won't be there too long but if there's anything you guys need from up here let me know. I'll be happy to drag it down to you.

MY plans changed on my 40 so I won't be needing them. I'll ask a few guys up here if they need them so we can help make room for your new addition.

Tom, the cruiser made it home this fall but has been sitting in the garage, still needing finished up. My stepsons kitchen remodel turned into us COMPLETLY gutting the house down to the bare studs and adding four rooms upstairs. So time in the garage has been nill. But we are getting close to being done, waiting on him to finish the drywall now. I do framing, elec., pluming, and hang drywall, but I DO NOT finish it. So yes I hope to be out more in 09.
I'll be there the 17th and ready to pay back some people for the help I got last year.
Mark

I'm planning to be there. I'll bring some cookies or other desert type item.
My FJ62 needs the rear suspension swapped out. The old sagged out springs for newer spring packs with add-a-leaves. I have springs, ubolts, shocks, pins and shackles to do the job. I'd love a warm shop and a few helping hands for this job if there's room on the schedule...you just have to be able to ignore all the rust under this truck!

I'm down for the 40 stretch & the rear springs on the 62. I got lots of help (much appreciated help) last year on my junk. I'm ready to wrench for who ever needs it this year.
What about the gift exchange idea? Anyone? I already got something cool to bring. Will I be the only one? Will Jimmy & I just have to exchange gifts? Will that make us look a little wierd? Will it be a gift exchange extravaganza equaled by no other? Tune into Outback Offroad Gear, The 09' Tech Session to find out the answers to these & many other exciting questions. Be There!

Tony, I'm still waiting on my beadlocks,( ) this is the hold up on your tires. I should have them before the tech sessionn so I could actually drop your tires off in Anderson in the morning on my way to the Carl's shop. I'll be in touch.

For anyone who may not know where Carl's shop is....Outback Offroad Gear is located on the south side of Indy at 8475 N. 700 east. from I65, take the Greenwood exit and go east about 5 miles to 700 East. Turn left and go up about a block or two and then turn right between two houses. The shop is in the back. Big building. Here is the Mapquest link: Map of 8475 N 700 E Indianapolis, IN by MapQuest
By the way, I am in for the gift exchange. So far that is Tom, Tony, myself and Jimmy.

Anyone want to throw down on some rules for it? (i.e. $ amount, etc.)

I'd say go with Jimmy's post (#7)...$20 and make it some how related to Cruisers or wrenching. If Bill commits to the gift exchanged we could extend the rules to include charcoal briquettes.
