Aftermath Roll Call

Alright HC members, after this last week of wild weather, figured it prudent to check up on everyone.

Everybody O.K., any damage?

Heidi, myself, Trent and his wife were camping at Shades SP last night through the 8" rain!

The drive home was interesting, I'll just say that the 80 got her sea legs.

Northeast Indy didn't get it too bad except for some fallen limbs. I did lose my 22" widescreen monitor due to a power surge which really sucks! Jimmy told me yesterday that Carl's culdesac, in Greenwood, had over 2' of water in the road! I'm heading down to his shop later this morning to help Hanley, so I'll see first hand how bad it got.

After reading the paper this morning, I am wondering about Mark and Richard since their area appeared to have some major damage.

Clint

I had a 2 1/2 foot watermark at the northeast corner on my fence where the storm water drain is located. There were two rivers flowing thought my yard and my neighbors yard coming from Carl's culdesac headed to the storm drain.

We are down in Nashville (In). (first use of broadband card, me like!) I slept through most of the storms Fri night and didn't think much of it until we went in town on saturday. Salt Creek went from 30 feet wide to a half mile in a lot of areas. We were headed to Helmsburg and got turned back. No roads open to Helmsburg and it was being evacuted by everglade boats. Amazingly, Salt Creek was almost back to normal by this morning.

Anybody been near Columbus? holy crap!! We couldn't even get on 65...46 was shut down and no going through Columbus from south to north...what a mess. Some dim wit tried taking a semi through an area and floated into a field, when Mother Nature says "I'm gunna kick yer ass"! she means it.
I probably could of avoided this if I would of actually turned a TV on over the weekend and watched the news. Why start now with being informed?!?

We have been lucky down here very little rain. But the rivers are expected to raise by more than 10 feet by thurs. This with most of the rivers alredy at flood stage now.
Here in Gibson county we have the White River on the north boundry, Wabash River on the west boundry, and the Patoka River runs through the middle. So many roads will be closed and many people flooded out of there homes. Much of the bottom ground is farm ground and has been planted in the last few weeks.
So we missed most of the bad weather, but are getting ready for the aftermath.

Mark
